@@cody5404 Comics Explained makes a lot of mistakes. He especially misses a lot of context that makes it clear he only started reading Comics around the movie boom. He didn't even know who Gateway was on his Generation X video!- How does a Comics "expert" miss 4 years of essential X-men continuity? I've been reading all of Marvel since the beginning of the Marvel Age- so I can spot a fraud a mile off. Merry marvelite is the best on KZbin right now.

@@tbunating1451 in his own words- Rob has been reading comics for about 25 years (the movie years). He also seems to be entirely digital. Ask him to do a room tour of his comic collection if you doubt that? Don't get me wrong- he has clearly done an incredible amount of research in those 25 years. But for somebody like me, who's obsessive collection goes back to the 60s, he simply has way too many mistakes, gaps of knowledge and crucially a complete lack of context for many of the things he discusses. Rob is more than good enough for new comic fans learning the basics- but this channel is better for obsessive types like me who already own and probably know everything IMO.

Great video. Avengers Forever did such a great job cleaning up all of Kang’s backstory, but in retrospect, I think they got rid of some things that other creators made interesting such as the TVA in the Loki tv series.

That was an epic travel through comic history. Splendidly presented. And I felt pride that Kang ended up conquering his destiny. My only questions are: What about the young Kang that Kang manipulated into becoming him, & How on Earth could the movie Kang hope to compare to this history? The comics have 60 years of stories to look at, but we don't have time for that kind of variety and depth in movies. I guess we'll see.

That show kicked so much ass. That said, I was confused why Kang's future was replaced with an apocalypse? I know the reason was Cap apparently screwing up during the Kree-Skrull War, and a solar storm decimated Earth. That said, wouldn't that imply Cap wasn't supposed to be found in the first place? Am I missing something?

Maybe Skrull Cap, trying to emulate the heroism of the real McCoy, chose to save T'Challa from falling into the sun, thus allowing the Kree to open their portal near the sun. Kang didn't know about the imposter, all he saw was Cap acting in character.

Fantastic video sir! This is the best breakdown and explanation of Kang's story from the comics I've heard! And there are some great content creators doing similar and cool stuff too in regards to this. If this video doesn't get you ready for Phase 5, Quantumania, Loki season 2, Avengers: Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars in season and out of season, nothing will. You can't definitely see why Marvel Studios have made the creative choices for Kang so far in Loki season 1, Ant-Man: Quantumania, Loki season 2 and so forth. So a Kang is knocked into a timeless dimension and there realizes that there are variant timeliness repeatedly failing and causing destruction. This variant then successfully plots the downfall of the others and his future happens to be the sole ruler of the timeline (roughly speaking) So is the MCU taking this route? Is the exiled Kang who we think is dead really just somewhere else learning the truth and biding his time. Is his future He Who Remains? They both solely seem to be against the multiverse interacting while the other variants are fine with it.

In the 90’s there were marvel trading cards much like sports. The cards would show each character’s analytical stats. It’s how I learned every marvel character because I pretty much had them all including my much coveted “Living Tribune” 3D card. I knew this guy was no joke as well (Kang)because he ranked high in almost every category plus in his monologue he was the first master time traveler outside of Cable and Bishop that I knew back in the early 90’s.
