TV series shown aired in 1997 capturing the work of the firefighters based at Old Swan and Low Hill fire stations in Merseyside. The 1990s were busy times for fire stations in urban areas. its sad looking at this series as there have been so many stations close and resources cut since this was made

Wow it's so funny how firemen are firemen no matter what country you're in. I'm a fireman in the states and these guys are exactly like us personality-wise and the way we fight fire. I absolutely love this series

"C4 West Derby road" as it was known.... before they changed it to "Low Hill" which was technically the name of the area, but is a name that none of the locals ever used. People used to say when they saw the name on the engine "where's Low Hill?"

It all ties in to be around Jan-Mar 1997. A lot of the car fires, a reg check brings them up as being untaxed since spring (ish) 1997.
