There are quite a few stories about hunters in Poland who shot some random guy, or other hunter, because they are usually drunk when they go hunting. And their usual excuse is that they thought it was a boar. It was so common that it become a meme.

3:41 - It should be "And somewhere on a stone there is a hedgehog (shouting): too many hares!". It was translated as "And somewhere on some stone YOU EAT". It's because in Polish "Jeż" means "hedgehog" and "jesz" means "you eat", and it is pronounced the same way.

I recommend the mime show by Ireneusz Krosny. Great talent, shows various real life situations in a great and funny way, and no translation is needed :D My favorite sketches of his are: - Dyrygent/The Conductor - Ewolucja tańca/The Evolution of Dance - MASAŻYSTA/masseur and bunch of others, really good stuff :)

Yes, "Myśliwi"!!! :DD I very much like Abelard (I don't really watch many comedians, but this one, for some reason resonates with me), and "Myśliwi" is my favorite of his stand-ups! Plus- I totally agree with him about the hunters ;) EDIT: I agree with the aspect that the hunters have a skewed view; sure, I can understand that hunting can be (sometimes is- depends on a particular person) done in a humane way, or it even helps the rest of the animals. In National Parks it is especially visible- an animal is maybe sick, or extensively aggressive, or something like that, and there is a bid taking place and the park uses the many to modernize, or maybe expand (that money is especially needed in poorer areas/countries). But I am angered immensely by the hunters saying something like: "we need to bring down the wolf population, there is too much of them!" and in the same breath: "We will be increasing the number limit on deer this year, there are too many deers", or other such nonsense... Or when the shooting is "The Only Reasonable Choice". This should be the LAST option discussed, not the first and "the best" (for example: shooting wolves makes the packs scatter and individual wolves then are more dangerous than in a pack- one wolf is more likely to hunt the easiest pray availble= farm animals, maybe humans...)

As a person who deals directly with hunters and foresters, including people who study forestery, I must say that, like many Poles, you do not understand what hunting in Poland is like. The topic is more complex than everyone thinks and the views presented in the stand-up are not unique at all, but concern the main way of thinking about hunters. Despite the complexity of the topic, basic knowledge from high school in biology from the ecology section is enough to understand the topic. Hunters are necessary nowadays because of the disturbed ecological structure in the forests and the development of agriculture, which makes it very important to shoot and feed the animals so that they do not cause losses for farmers. Perhaps the clearest example is the wild boar population in Poland. 1.This typical animal has no enemy in our ecosystem. Over the years, the wild population regulated itself because there was no food for them in the forests, so they starved to death in the forests. 2. Currently, there are fields everywhere, and a small group of wild boars entering the field can cause huge losses for farmers, which must be compensated by hunters, even if wild animals are property of polsh goverment! 3. That is why, among other things, animals are fed so that they learn to come to one place for food and not destroy crops. 4. When a wild boar has enough food, it breeds every year and one pair of wild boars produces between 7 and 12 new individuals! Currently, there are approximately 250,000-300,000 wild boars in Poland. If the shooting were stopped, the wild boar population would increase to 1.2 million in one year and to 4.8 million (1 boar for 8 Poles) in two years, and these are statistics calculated for the smallest possible litter! If anyone has a better idea for regulating the population of wild animals in Poland, so that animals they won't go hungry and starve and also they will not cause losses on agricultural fields, it is worth contacting the Minister of Agriculture, maybe you will get some reward! @@Itesim No enemy? We have a steadily growing population of wolves, no one knows how many there are- no recent studies- but the number is measured in thousands. The ecosystem is bouncing back. Sure, it will never be as it used to be, or should be to be fully restored. Feeding wild animals is a double-edged sword- yes, it makes them not destroy crops, BUT it exacerbates the problem because they will breed more if there is readily available food, so in the long run it makes the situation unstable. Because we got used to the hunts, and the wild animal population being somewhat small, we got idle and gave up on having the special kind of dogs (LGD), that keep predators and other wildlife away from homes. SURE, not everywhere there can be those dogs, but it doesn't change the fact, that ppl forget/underestimate this kind of protection (no, show-line dogs will not do, dogs from the working lines are needed). And now we observe an increasing number of wild animals, and not knowing what to do about this, our first reaction is: let's shoot them! Plus - how many times have we heard that someone got "mistaken for a boar" and got shot? Or a trigger-happy hunter decided it would be a good idea to shoot the dog, that was walking ON A LEASH with its owner... Or other such cases. Yes, I know accidents happen, but there are too many idiotic ones... No, I am NOT against hunting, I am against not-logical and rushed decisions, hypocrisy, and all that jazz.

@@piotrsyszynski3787 A czym to się różni od współczesnego stand upu polskiego? Chyba tylko tym że nie przeklinano tak jak teraz. Stand up to tylko nazwa solowych występów kabaretowych a te w Polsce istniały już w czasach PRL-u. Ok dobra, Stand up różni się tylko interakcją z publicznością a tak to jest wszystko to samo.

Problem with Polish hunters is they often first shoot then look what it was. There was multiple incidents where they shot someone or a dog by mistake.

Stand-up, stand-upem, ale trzeba miec tez odrobine odpowiedzialnosci za slowa, albo chociaz minimum wiedzy. Nie jestem mysliwym, ale pochodze ze wsi. Wiecie dlaczego nie ma zajecy? Poniewaz stworzono wielkie gospodarstwa rolne i zaorano "miedze", ktore byly dla nich schronieniem i domem. Jelenie? Wielkie uprawy sa ogrodzone platikowa siatka. Stado wilkow nagania je w tym kierunku gdzie konczy sie droga ucieczki i morduje bez litosci, zostawiaja wiekszosc zwlok nienaruszonych. Dlaczego? Bo mlode wilki sa uczone zabijania, taka szkolka niedzielna dla nich . A wilki sa oczywiscie pod scisla ochrona, te pieseczki sympatyczne. Slyszeliscie takie powiedzenie:"poszedl jak dzik w kartofle"? Nieaktualne juz. Mysliwi, ktorych jednym z zadan jest ochrona upraw, w tym wypadku maja wolne. Dziki nie chca ziemniakow jesc. Zwlaszcza tych, z wielkich gospodarstw, nalezacych do zagranicznych korporacji. Ale Wy polejecie te frytki keczupem, czy majonezem i wpierdzielacie te trucizne, bez mrugniecia okiem. Moge jeszce tak dlugo wymieniac i przytaczac przyklady, ale po co? Wy i tak swa wiedze wezmiecie od telewizora. Walcie sie frajerzy!

Potwierdzam, niestety większość Polaków ma poglądy na ten temat jak te przedstawione przez Pana Gizę, a wystarczy trochę wiedzy na poziomie szkoły średniej z biologii, z zajęć o ekologii. Prócz tego, przeciętny śmiertelnik nie zdaje sobie sprawy jakie straty niedokarmiana zwierzyna łowna powoduje na polach. Gdyby przerwać to dokarmianie i to wszystkie zwierzaki powyłaziłyby z lasów na Pola to byłoby dopiero ciekawe :D Więc myśliwi dokarmiają, a jakże, tylko że to ma swoje konsekwencje w postaci tego, że przez to dużo więcej zwierząt przeżywa zimy i może się rozmnażać. Jeśli ktoś ma ciekawy pomysł na to jak zapobiec takiemu łańcuchowi, aby zwierzaki były wolne i najedzone, a rolnicy nie ponosili strat to warto uderzyć do ministra rolnictwa pewnie da za to nie małą nagrodę :D ! Za nim ktoś powie że to wyssane z palca, polecam sprawdzić samemu. Pozdrawiam cieplutko.

Jestem na wsi od 5-ciu lat. Na moich oczach myśliwi wybili wszystkie sarny. Wszystkie! I przestań pitolić o wilkach, bo prawdą jest, że zabijają najsłabsze osobniki w przeciwieństwie do was. Tak jak prawdą jest oglądając wasze dokonania i poziom, że gros z was znajduje się poniżej tych zwierząt, pod względem zachowań, troski i empatii w stosunku do towarzyszy stada. Trzeba pooglądać trochę nagrań z ukrytych kamer i innych filmów. A tak nawiasem mówiąc, odbyłam wiele wędrówek po Polsce, ale wilka w naturze, nie spotkałam nigdy. Wasz stosunek do zwierząt, mówię o mieszkańcach wsi powoli się zmienia, ale nadal żyją ludzie, których postawę doskonale określała stara piosenka satyryka Grześkowiaka "chłop żywemu nie przepuści".

In my opinion, Giza has one of the best stand-ups. He's not as common/vulgar as the others, but he's rather an intellectual. His stand-ups are really funny and also full of clever and mature thoughts, maybe because he's older than the other comedians and also a pioneer of the Polish stand-up. I really like Giza, Lotek, and Mieszko Minkiewicz, and I dislike Pacześ, who recently became boring and unfunny. Of course, that's not as good as the old Polish cabarets but it's still really good. Maybe it's just a matter of taste. I recommend you to watch Louis C.K.

Abelard is definitely not the best nowdays, top stand-upers in Poland are Łukasz "Lotek" Lodkowski, Cezary Jurkiewicz, Mateusz Socha and Antoni Syrek-Dąbrowski. Also avoid Rafał Pacześ, he's popular but low quality jokes

Jak masz wiedzę, to większość z tych żartów nie jest zabawna... w zasadzie to bardziej bawi Abelard jako przedstawiciel mieszczuchów grzejących dupy przed tv i śmiejący się z rzeczy, o których nie ma bladego pojęcia.

Ogólnie myślę, że tu chodzi o problem uproszczeń w stosunku do różnych grup społecznych. W tym przypadku ludzie nie zdają sobie sprawę na czym polega kontrola populacji zwierzyny łownej i praca łowczych, ale przecież oni jako grupa nie są wyjatkiem... Tak samo uproszczony standup możemy zrobić o gejach, księżach, policjantach, politykach itd. tylko problem polega na tym, że przeciętny zjadacz chleba na podstawie takiego stand-upu buduje sobie fałszywe wyobrażenie rzeczywistości, bo nie stać go na wyobrażenie bardziej złożonej struktury lub nie jest mu to na ręke, gdyż jest zwyczajnie trudniejsze i mniej wygodne. Można byłoby pozbyć się tych wszystkich uproszczeń, ale wtedy co byłoby zabawnego w takim stand-upie XD? Krótko mówiąc, szara masa zostanie szarą masą.
