I've been a Chiefs fan for 33 years. I've seen a lot of bad years with this team and it's incredible to be on the other side of that. I've never seen a QB like Mahomes. By the end of his career, he may or may not have as many Super Bowl rings as Tom Brady, but he's already left his mark on the game no matter what happens from here on out.

@@jinabobinaaa That was part of it, but I was screaming for years about how bad our defense was and how we needed to get rid of Bob Sutton with his very broken, "bend, don't break" defense. Spags comes in as the D coordinator, and bam, Superbowl win. I think Alex Smith might have actually made it to the Super Bowl himself, but there was no chance when you have a D that can't even stop a sneeze. We needed more than a QB, but thankfully we got that, and then some.

Not only is Patrick an incredible player, he is one of the most genuine, down to earth people you could ever meet. I am a Texas Tech Alum and former athlete. I live in Lubbock, Texas, where we had the joy of having Patrick with us for his college career. He still returns to events in Lubbock, when his schedule allows, including this past October when he was inducted into the Texas Tech Hall of Fame and Ring of honor. He has been courtside at basketball games in the past few years. He still gives back to the Lubbock community. Every sporting good store in town has Texas Tech gear and Kansas City gear. We love him dearly. Enjoy your adventure into the NFL!

As a chiefs fan watching mahomes live is like watching a potential nuclear explosion about to go off every single play. As someone from the KC area, I waited 38 years to see a Chiefs super bowl championship. It means the world to me to see them so dominant. Oddly enough, I used to live in the same building as Kelce in downtown Kansas City back in 2014. Seeing him get on the elevator with me was quite a thing.

I was at that niners game, it was amazing to see him play in person . I watched the warm ups before the game started when the qbs were throwing to the other players. What I was amazing at was how he was hitting each receiver perfectly with each throw. He didn’t miss during the pregame warmup During the game he was an amazing well oil machine, not flustered at all when they were down initial and not flustered at all after a tipped interception on the opening drive. It was an enjoyable game to watch

The thing about being a Chiefs fan w/Mahomes is you don't think the game is over until it's actually over. I never thought the Eagles were going to win. I think into 2003, Vermiel was still around, and it wasn’t too bad but that was short lived. Those last years of Carl Peterson were rough! Mahomes to Kelce at this point is not the best duo in nfl history imo but they're certainly top 5 and EASILY have the chance to be the best and yes I would say mahomes to Kelce is far more iconic than mahomes to hill. They have a special connection that is truly different and remarkable. I highly recommend looking up an in depth break down of mahomes and Kelce to get an idea. Every single time In every big situation it's almost always those two. Even when they KNOW mahomes is throwing to Kelce they just find a way

This season, my favorite has to be the McKinnon toss, but ever would have to be his 1st season starting against the 49ers. It was an amazing scramble one way makes at least two guys miss and fall down as he turns all the way around to the other side of the field and then a completely perfect throw to Chris Connelly at the back of the endzone in stide! Greatest touchdown ever, imo, at least in the regular season!

I am not given to hyperbole or recency bias. I don't automatically christen the latest thing as the best that ever was. But, I have never seen anyone play the quarterback position better than Patrick Mahomes... No one. Ever. Brady still wears the crown. Seven Super Bowl championships earn him that right. But, Mahomes is ahead of his pace in every measurable category. I don't think he'll catch Brady, simply because his career almost certainly won't last as long. But he'll get close with about five fewer seasons. In my book, that would put him in the conversation.

I don't think the question as to Mahomes being the greatest is whether he can get better, I think it's whether he can sustain his current level for another ten or fifteen years. Also one thing mentioned in the video a few times that I don't know if you understood was the concept of a "free play". Basically, when there's a penalty, the other team can choose to take the penalty or just keep the result of the play. So if the offense can snap the ball while the defense is offside, they know they've got at least five yards, so they just throw the ball deep. If it's incomplete or even intercepted, they just accept the penalty and the five yards, any interception basically gets wiped out. But if the pass is complete they can get a lot more than five yards, often a touchdown.
@slagwill5599
@slagwill5599 Жыл бұрын
Sustain? Only if he adjusts his game as he ages, unlike his fellow mobile-cannon, Favre. The thing about extreme brilliance is that it’s intensity cannot be sustained for prolonged intervals. However he’s adaptable and malleable - so we’ll see. I share the same sentiment as you do.

To answers your question: “as a Kansas City fan to watch this back?” Disbelief. Kansas City has been bad team/mediocre team since the early 90s, with only 1 playoff win since Montana left in 1993. We suffered, we sucked, but the stadium was also sold out. This city eats, drinks, and sleeps football. Mahomes is our Micheal Jordan, our Rocky Balboa, and he’s just a stand-up great fellow on top of it. I’m 29, and hope to have a son soon so I don’t have to tell him about how great Mahomes was, but watch how great he IS, with him.

I’ve been a chiefs fan since I was little. The Chiefs used to be TERRIBLE. So seeing them like this is unbelievable to me. Mahomes is the best QB of all time. If he continues on the path he is on he will easily be the GOAT over TB. He’s already better than Brady ever was as far as skill and athleticism. But people strongly believe that SB titles are the way to say you’re the GOAT so unfortunately, in a harder division than TB has ever played in, Mahomes will have to prove to the world how much better he is than TB via SB titles. Although I don’t think he needs many more to prove that. I pray I get to see him in action one day. NFL tickets are so expensive

Bu the way, the so-called Mahomes flop after he was hit out of bounds, wasn't for dramatic effect. It was because he didn't want to chance doing more damage to his ankle. The out of bounds hit was the right call and so was the hold in the Superbowl. And for everyone mad about those penalties... If the roles were reversed, you'd want those penalties called on your opponent. If they weren't, because the refs just "let them play" based on the "situation" you'd set the NFL on fire. A penalty is a penalty is a penalty no matter the "situation"

As a longtime (almost 40 years) Chiefs fan, I often thought of the Vikings as the NFC version of the Chiefs. It’s a franchise that is respected & has had some great players & success in their team’s history, but have had nothing really going on in the last 30 or so years (until Mahomes). Both teams have spent a lot of time with other team’s retread QB’s, usually guys on the downside of their careers, but good enough to get you to 9-7, 10-6 or even 11-5 every once in awhile. Of course, both teams would blow it in the playoffs, usually in the first game they’d play, lol. I’ve always had a lot of respect for the Vikings & I’d love to see you (and the Lions) find a great, young QB in the draft & pay back the Packers for the last 30 years of them having back to back HoF quarterbacks🤣

Mahomes is already better than Brady ever was, he just doesn't have the longevity yet to get the goat title

@5:29 "I've never seen another..." nope, and you won't. I don't know how long Mahomes is going to be able to do this, but it is unreal.

1st off the Chiefs was insulted for drafting the kid . KC and that fan base was hard-core as they come before he arrived but struggled & seemed to be cursed in winning playoff games. But Mahomes in his 1st game that kid started vs the Donkeys in Denver he showed that night that curse was soon to be erased. So yea he's beloved

Tom Brady has the most rings. But he’s always had a top defense, if not #1 defense. Mahomes has had absolutely terrible defenses his entire career. Mahomes would have at least 4 rings right now if he would have had the defenses Brady had.

It’s a little weird to pitch QBs against each other in a game, saying the QB that wins is better. They are never on the field at the same time. Isn’t it that the Bengals defense was better than Mahomes or that Burrow was better than the Chiefs defense? The only way to head-to-head QBs is with stats and results. Burrow could literally win every game against the Chiefs and still not be the best QB. The best QB does not always win; the best team usually does.

There were 2 holding calls on that 1 play that every Chiefs hater is bitching about. So stop whining and tell ur corners to stop holding when they get beat

And the guy who tackled Mahomes before the half it sure looked liked he was trying to not just tackle but also intentionally reinjure the ankle.

Mahomes - Kelce is much tighter than Mahomes - Hill. Since Hill went to the Dolphins, he’s been caught lying about Mahomes, saying some dumb things. Mahomes and Kelce are actually friends

It seems lik only Americans sacrifice their own intelligence and say hating reactionary shit when witnessing obv great players. Every one of these british reaction vids are genuine and they legit call what they see without that corny hating bias. Its refreshing honestly
