Phenomenal. A gem. We tend to think of this genre as depressing or horrific...rare to find a film that uses a worldwide apocalypse to accentuate a deeper truth: where there is one, there can be self-sufficiency and fortitude, but ultimately loneliness and isolation. Where there are two there can be hostility and mistrust, but ultimately companionship and hope. Props to the actors; conveying emotion that engages without dialog isn't easy. Unbelievable job, guys. For what it's worth, you've earned a subscriber.

Really nice job with the camera work! A+ for cinematography. Great acting expression on the lead's face as he scans the radio, gets bored playing chess, thinks about rushing the "villain", also A+. Sets and background were very well thought out as well. On the story side; I thought to myself 'oh, she's gonna be a girl under there' - once I saw the plant bloom. But you still handled the interaction between the two so well. Only wish there was a twist when she pulled her mask off. Disfigured? Or maybe so blind that she didn't even know it was a flower? Something to break the pattern of the usual Post-Apoc endings that many of these have. Twilight Zone invented this one, if I remember correctly.. Nice job though. Grade: A-

Genuinely loved this, such a short and sweet story. Love the characters, and their way of communication. Such a story told so well through the exchange of no dialog, purely through visuals. I love it, this is what video was made for. The music too, I clicked on the thumbnail thinking that this might be a gritty or dark story, but it was light hearted and happy. Merv is a loner who seems to have lived his life away from people, and it shows through the affection he shows the rose and how he seemingly has dedicated so much time to helping it grow. Then he see's someone else, an alien in his little world, and he feels scared of them and doesn't know how to react to them, first he is scared, and runs away when they notice him, then he risks his life to retrieve the water canister, then he wants to communicate. I'm surprised how attached to that rose I got in the space of 10 minutes, and to Merv. Seriously, I love this. EDIT: Please, I would love to see more of this style of video.

We are indeed - we currently have a steampunk western in post-production and are due to begin shooting a dark fantasy film at the end of this year, so stay tuned!
This is why I no longer go to the movies. More entertaining in all aspects than most main stream films. How sweet.
@texasarcane78949 жыл бұрын
This was funny, well paced and very entertaining for fans of the genre. Do you know what 90% of KZbin films and most Hollywood movies lack nowadays? The ability to laugh at their own premises and have fun with it no matter how grim the subject matter. Any movie that doesn't have at least one moment relieved by humor is no good, ever. This was funny throughout despite what it was about.

The sound design in this short is brilliant. I like how you guys are able to communicate a progression of moods from triumphant to lonely with such little touches, like the lullaby and the radio. The music too was really upbeat and made for a fun contrast against the desert setting, which was well realized thanks to all the nice wide angles your team deployed. All around great little film here. Short, sweet, and memorable. Hope to make stuff like this when I grow older.

I have to say, the atmosphere that Little Dragon Pictures made feels really happy with the soundtracks composed in it. I don't feel like I'm watching a regular traumatic atmosphere of post-apocalypse, but rather finding the good side of it. What a good one. You deserve more likes and subs :D Cheers from Indonesia

@@bonnih6931 You have to dress like that in a nuclear apocalypse. It helps protect against alpha, beta, and gamma radiation as well in general, against things like shrapnel and dust. You can really only afford to show skin when radiation levels are low or non-existent.

The WALLE feel is so amazing. I'm not trying to say you copied Pixar or anything, but the fact you accomplished something of this sort is astounding (also I don't think Il be able to get the watering a plant with urine thing out of my head).

You've got your guy who calms himself with a toy, is fascinated at a blooming flower, plays chess with himself, and even has fun playing King of the Hill with his neighbors. Perfect post-apocalyptic scenarios.

Shared. Not something I do a lot of, but I really like this film- particularly the choice not to "pierce the veil" with dialogue, or even speech. I'm curious if that was a stylistic choice, or for the universality of distribution that it allows. Either way, doesn't really matter; just helps keep you "there".
@LittleDragonPictures8 жыл бұрын
Awesome thanks a lot! The no-speaking is indeed for universality, but more in terms of the message and theme being universal as opposed to just distribution :)
