I'm glad this video is finally getting some exposure! The 8:71 BDS blown V8 was built by Tim Cotterill (owner who is shown riding the beast) with John Arruzza, and Michael Lees with a ten gallon fuel cell and three speed and was just delivered Jan, 2009. The bike has around a 144" wheelbase and although not fully proven is estimated to take 1000 bhp running on pump gas. Tim has taken it as fast as 150 MPH in the desert and he's sure there is more in there.

Goddamn I love mechanics. When everything is working how you made it and want it to work. Especially a project like this trike. Every day when it is not raining and having this in your garage,is like a new day.

Saw this awesome bike on another post getting hated on by bunch of idiots who don't appreciate craftsmanship. Seeing this front on pulling out the garage at the start of the video put a big grin on my face. This is utterly crazy in the best possible way... love it. Nice video.

Was going back to work after my lunch break when, passed by this Crazy Ass trike on Gardena Blvd. I road a couple blocks then thought, I gotta go back and see what the hell that Silver Monster was. That's when I met Tim Cotterill & his Rocket II. Truly the most impressive fab work I have ever seen. Glad I spoke with him, cool dude. When I got back to work I was stoked cuz.... to see fab work like this it really motivates me to do something similar but on a much smaller scale. -Honest Mike

I use to work three door down from Tim. A true Renaissance man. He does sculpture in bronze and is known around Venice as Frogman. He has another trike, or did that was modeled after a Ferrarri type design. Bad ass. I'm proud to have a couple of his bronzes in my collection.

I love how he leans into the corners.... like that'll make a difference. Hats off to the engineering tho, we need more of you good sir!
@garyheppner71863 жыл бұрын
I'm sure if you asked Frogman, he'd tell you that yes - his leaning into the curves shift of his body weight really does impact a faster corner with this 4 wheeled trike layout! Getting his groove on. Nicely done "trike"!! cruzen3

This bike REEKS AWESOMENESS! THE VIDEO IS ALSO FANTASTIC!
@andrewcappelletti12 жыл бұрын
The VIDEO production NEVER put the trike on a dyno.The picture was NEVER 'sped up". We used a camera car to follow and flank the Rocket II. We also mounted the camera in numerous places ON THE TRIKE itself. MOST of the video is shots from the hard mounts. The song people are asking about is an original piece made for the edit. We did have to stop for A LOT of ice to cool that thing down frequently. Tim didn't receive ANY tickets. The crew received THREE in the making of this video.

The Dodge Tomahawk was designed to appeal to people who have not outgrown the thought that Matchbox cars should be full-size and driven around by them. This trike may fall into that category as well. :) I would be surprised if a rider could hold onto that thing at even 130mph. You need more than engine power to keep a vehicle from getting tossed into the air at 200 mph. Thank you for the amusing bit of info about the Tomahawk.

This is a seriously long Marlboro, man. Love the highway - haven't seen it in years. Q's: 1) Are you really going without an air filter? (Or am I stupid?) 2) Did you really street that thing without paper? 3) If you were to try to license, is it a 3 wheeler? (Legally in CA?) Wow - what a guy's thing!

Tim recently did an interview with Jay Leno and said it was 700 lbs. I spoke with Tim yesterday and what he meant to say was the block of aluminum started out at 700 lbs prior to it being turned. He front wheel doesn't weigh anything close to that.

Just like the front tires on the older motor graders without the front drive. They mount them with the tread pattern opposite of the rear drivers, similiar to this. As the grader needs control without acceleration force from the front tires.
