despite what other comments are saying, i believe this is a real copy. here's my proof. from discogs: "Side A: THE HANATARASHI OFFER BASE TRACK (VOICES OF ONISABUROU DEGUCHI) ON MERZBOW TRACK. Side B: MERZBOW OFFER BASE TRACK (NEIL HILL OF SPK INTERVIEW) ON HANATARASHI SIDE." these tracks are from We Are Hardcore, which is solely a Hanatarsh boxset, however it is a compilation of early hanatarash tapes from around 1984, so the year matches. the descriptions of the tracks as i put up above matches exactly with these tracks here. also, most of the tracks in we are hardcore are mislabeled unfortunately, so that would explain why the first track is labeled "chant" on the boxset.

So if these are the Merzbow / Hanatarashi tracks from their split cassette from 1984 and were taken from Hanatarashi's "We Are Hardcore!!" booleg compilation it is not explicitly stated in the available Discogs information but it is quite possible that the Merzbow track was not properly credited. A legitimate cassette copy can solve the mystery. The hunt continues...

Sadly the Merzbow track is not Merzbow but is: "Chant" by The Hanatarashi from CD 5 of the We Are Hardcore compilation...

Thank you for sharing but where did the Merzbow track come from? I've searched and don't see it on the 'We Are Harecore Compilation'. Cheers!
