I have to completely disagree with the chap who says this is a terrible video. I think it's one of the best on youtube. I can get the same tone with my Recto, (boosted with a gain pot mod). And I use a Recto 2x12 mic'd with a 57 through an ART Dual Pre USB into Audacity.... Raw recording. I can get this tone. Mic placement is the only variable. This is not wizardry here.

I have owned my TC-50 for a year and I have not needed, nor wanted another amp since!! This thing does it all, the clean channel takes pedals really well (my big muff pi sounds amazing through channel 1 with the drive engaged). I prefer the amps reverb to my pedals, which is great. I play everything from classic rock/blues to modern rock and metal, and this amp just does it! Mesa Amps for Life!

What a great tone on all channels!! I always loved the other amps also starting with a M. But since I own a Mesa Boogie Roadster i'm trying to improve the sound of my beloved M's with noise gates, attenuators, Choke mods, biasing, pedals, etc. Now this amp comes along I might consider to change completely , when it has an AC/DC (trademark M. sound) crunch I’m sold! This amp looks amazing but we need to hear more sounds. Especially when you explicitly say that Triple Crown's channel 3 may be one of the highest gain channels of any mesa amp ever made. You really had me there. I was definitely waiting for a 6L6 metal demo after that statement and I’m not talking about seven-string chuggy riffing. In my opinion lower tunings are great for certain styles of metal but not so much for reviewing an amp. Once you get below C, sound becomes smudgy and tends to lose clarity and attack. I get that you’re trying to keep up with the trend in the metal world at the moment but people need to hear more than just that. The ability to switch between EL34’s and 6L6’s in this setup is really great but I would like to hear more from the 6L6 side with some all-round metal style playing.

The video of the TC-50 I think was well represented for all music I don’t don’t play any of that nu-metal I love 70’s 80’s rock metal punk hard rock but I may at some point want to play nu-metal or other kinds of music and this amp shows me that the TC-50 can deliver the goods and of course the amp can play any kind of music you want or I want people sell themselves short when they see a video it’s a demo a showcase of what the amp could do I own 3 Mesa amps a triple rectifier 3 channel head and the heartbreaker head and combo which are all very cool

I have one of the heads. I like running it through the Mesa 2X12 Vertical cab. Love the versatility. The FX access on the footswitch is a great feature. I do not know why there are so few manufactures that do not do this. Cheap fuckers, I guess. Love the tube switch as well. These are bad boys. I find them very cheap for what they do. Beats a "DR.Z or one of those one channel, no fx fot 4-5,000. I had a guy want to trade my Mesa 50 watt head(/50 Express Plus) for a Budda 18 watt combo. Right. I think many botique amps are falling off the "Interest" of most guitar players. Unless you are just building a collection, and very rich.

Its a hell of a nice amp, like always to be expect from Mesa, and i love this brand, i comment on every video and love all the products you guys do...BUT...yet another 50W multi-channel amp that can do everything? dont we have enough of those already? Personally i think its time Mesa bring out a fairly small (and hopefully not too expensive) single/double channel head with lower wattage (5-15W) "for the masses"...i would love to own a Mesa, but they are always way too loud and expensive for me..

Ok, have the amp now a full 6 hours,,,running through a 212 recto cab with V30's,,in front of the amp an EP booster, which I always use...sounds incredible. I noticed I had to turn down the presence knob quite a bit and keep the treble at mid noon and the bass around 2p...i play in standard tuning, classic metal, hard, distorted funk...is this the right eq setting...sounds great to my ears...i like the boominess I get with this setting, both on channel 2 and 3, with the gain quite high...having owned a dual recto and a Mark 5, this amp sounds like the two of those amps got married and had an offspring, the TC-50. I have always loved the boomy, wall of sound of the Recto, but always leaned toward the crunch of the Mark 5 high gain modes. Having this package without the 5 band EQ and the myriad of other options I never used from the Mark 5 and Dual Recto, makes this a perfect amp for someone like me...and the Clean channel is sublime, by the way,,,chimy and full.

It's definitely tight, with more compression than the Dual Recto...most definitely does Metallica tone well and many others,,,the Treble and presence seem to be the knobs to work most,,the bass appears even across the spectrum and less fickle than the Mark 5. I will say that the Gain knob is extremely sensitive. With just a small notch up or down can change the tonal palette...i like it, a lot...the mid cut on both channel 2 and Channel 3 is insanely precise and liquidy...just what Mesa is known for...and the clean channel? superb...

I gotta chime in again,,i must. Yesterday, I was fired from a high paying medical sales job (shit happens, quite common in my industry, lay off and move on). In any case, I went home depressed and plugged into my TC-50 through a Dual rectifier cab and a 112 cab with C90's...Dear Lord, the sound, the cut, the depth, the complexity of the tones, from clean to absolutely crushing,,,I was happy again. I have owned two Mark 5's and three Rectos...this is best of those two worlds...I cannot say enough. My band, Lion-Hearted (you can check us out on Lion-Hearted.us.org) is currently working on their third studio release, I am not on the first two releases. The previous Guitarist played a Marshall and, while the tones are decent, this third album will be recorded with the Mesa TC-50.. I can't wait...our sound will be heavier, boomier, more complex, even visceral..being the only guitarist in the band, I can say that it will be attributable to my guitar tone. I originally thought I would record the third album with a Recto, then decided to go with the Mark 5, but now it is definitely going to be the TC-50. It's going to be a fun journey.

It's a custom guitar built for me called a Saucy Partocaster :) Quarter sawn one piece vintage modern Warmoth maple neck, compound radius 10 to 16, Ultem nut, 1 11/16 width, Dimarzio virtual vintage silent single coil pickups, I’m pretty sure the pickups are Area 58 in the neck, Area 67 in the middle and a Heavy Blues 2 in the bridge, Callaham bridge and block, two piece MJT Alder body, Nitro finish, Gotoh locking tuners. It's a great guitar. Built for studio and touring. One of my very best friends picked all the parts and Erik Goehrisch from Lush Guitars in Los Angeles built it.
