Cool video, the Satan nails a sharper Triple Rec tone with more bite. The Recto is one of my fave tones, but sounds like you get a lot more amp in the Satan for the extra money if you want a wide range of tones. Also dig the raw live sounding tones in your videos, sounds more realistic than the processed recordings in other's videos, good work bro. 🤘

The Randall Satan is brighter and clearer to my ears. It wins here, but only by a tiny margin. In fact, the differences in tone between the Rectifier and the Satan are merely philosophical. Once again. Great demo.

Massive props for you to do this video! Thank you so much. You know what would have been awesome? As if you put a fairly transparent boost pedal in front of both of them and then compared that as well. I would have loved to have seen a Wampler tumnus(or another Klon clone), BD-2, TS808 or a boost pedal with the gain set to minimum and the volume/output set to max in order to slam the input signal into preamp sections of each one.

The Randall is still popular due to its tech and the name of the product. The name attracts a lot of attention. There can be a better amp that IS 5000 x (Times) better than the s@tan but people will still prefer the s@tan due to its name. Nov. 17, 2022, USA.

It's funny you mention guitarists not saying "shitty rectifier". I know MANY that do🤣 I'm not a hater though, just a funny aside. I love them, those guitarists hate the scoop and apparently don't know how to dial in the mids. One of my favorite rhythm amps to this day is the single rec rectoverb. Love my mark v:25. In IIC+ with a mid hump (from low to high, up with the 6600 slightly boosted) i get such a great metal tone. Fast with a bit of sag. That said i love marshalls too. Dsl, framus, krank..... i like most decent amps.

Great vid! I have a Satan and have been toying around with the settings. Do you have a pic of your dials (or list of o'clocks) for your triple rectifier replication tone? Sounds badass. The Satan shouldn't need a 33 pedal with the Grind built in, right?

Kevin! They are both built like tanks and you'll love either of them. The Satan is a bit more "modern," and offers more options for varying tonal changes than the Rectifier. Personally, I'll never sell either of them because they're both great. They're just a little different in flavor, that's all. : )

I love my recto . it actually does anything I need but I play a lot of different styles . dialing in a metal sound is so easy. but playing leads and getting a nice twangy clean tone Mesa is a much better amp imo. I like your comparison. and the Satan is a decent amp.🤘

Used to have a T rec back in the day. It was thoroughly underwhelming. I only used ch3 modern, & it just put out a bunch of deafening volume, mush and fizz. I used a maxon 808 & spent forever trying to dial it in, but I wasnt feeling it. Ended up selling it. Maybe the fact that it had 10 yr old tubes (original, never retubed) was part of the problem. Sometimes I wonder what itd be like to get another one and try ch2 orange. I hear its closer to an OG 2ch recto.

Great video! You might have already addressed this but it would be awesome if each time you played the amp there was a title on the screen. So while you're playing the Randall it says "Randall". All we are is dust in the wind.

It's tough to answer that because they don't pop up as often as they once did. Covid kicked up the prices on used amps, so you may be better off asking a seller how much they would like. Dicker the price from that starting point.

Jimmy! Yeah, bro! It's crazy how sharp the notes are with the Satan! And if someone doesn't like it, I swear there are more options than any amp I've ever used that will help anyone build their ideal tone. There are other amps that I've heard offer the same, from the Fortin Cali, Fortin Natas, KSR Gemini and many other amps that have been modded. Guys I know have told me they can recreate my tone with their amps, and the one thing they tend to have in common with the Satan are all the toggle switches!! They're like magic switches! Haha!!

I'm wondering if my excess low end comes from the Rectifier 412? That thing is seriously bassy. What cabinet did you/ do you have? I'm 1,000% certain that it wouldn't sound as low end if I used my Marshall 1960A or VHT Fatbottom 412, those are high. Although I should try it with my Bogner 412 Uberkab to hear if there's a huge difference.

Rooster 7six try messing with the girth and sweep knobs! I had to dial out some low end in my tone cause it was a little overwhelming! Hope this helps man!

@@louistorres The rectifier just has HUGE bass. I had a rectifier slant 4x12OS but just sold it and got a Friedman 4x12, still super bassy. I have a 6534 also and to get it close on bass I have to turn bass all the way up and resonance to like 3 o'clock.

Mesa Rectifiers are awful by themselves but they're solid AF and are the great foundation for brutal tones. You have to tighten the signal with a boost!! Then it's INCREDIBLE!

I love that Kiesel! Legit, I bought that one after selling my old Kiesel Aries A6C last year. There are a few videos with it but it was so gorgeous that I found myself never playing it. The moment I shipped it, was when the regret started! LOL! My buddy was selling his Kiesel for $1,000 and I had to have it. It's the same buddy I bought the Randall Satan from a few days ago. Like me, he has so much gear that it's crazy! He owns the most Kiesel guitars of anyone I know, even endorsed Kiesel artists I know have less. Hahaha! This Kiesel is one of my goto guitars and it plays so smooth too. If they weren't so expensive, I'd buy a few more.
