Thank you! I connect my helix through USB direct my PC. Using Cubase. No, I am not blend anything. I record the processed sound directly out of the Helix into Cubase. I have nothing else added in cubase.

I can’t stand the thin sound of a dingeall’s higher strings. The low b and e sound great but the rest sounds too tinny. But they’re all the prog hype right now so whatever

If you base that opinion on my tone only I would say that it is the effect of cranking 1khz and highs up to allow the low b to keep some punchy mids when tuning low.

A# F A# D# G# is often what the 8 string stuff is tuned to.

Bass tuning is going to be a half step up for your higher 4 strings (F A# D# G#) and your lowest string will be tuned a half step down to A# making the tuning from lowest to highest A# F A# D# G#
