Atlas is a locomotion platform though, it wasn’t at all made for expressing emotions. Mesmer can’t walk yet, and we’re still a ways away from being able to make a true human shape walk naturally.

I have a feeling it has more to do with the cameras they're using in her eyes. They don't want false lashes to get in the way of the cameras and they're probably not the best quality cameras at the size so they may need more light to get in.
