The lead singer/guitarist, Dave Mustaine, was the original lead guitarist for Metallica. He even wrote most of Metallica's first album. Problem is, him and the rest of Metallica hated each other. The others saw Kirk Hammet playing with another band while they were on tour, hired him on the spot, then went back to the hotel and put Dave's drunk ass on a bus home.

This song has been floated as one of the best Thrash Metal songs ever written, They have somany great songs and albums. Might check out, Wake Up Dead, Peace Sells, Tornado Of Souls. Angry Again, Go to Hell ( off of the Bill and TedsBogus Adventure soundtrack) Sweating Bullets, Symphony Of Destruction and Skin of My Teeth. That should be a good start for you

Agreed...this was pretty much the only metal in those days...and may mention Dave Mustaine was lead guitarist for Metallica and then he split. There was debate in the 80s over who was better. In my opinion, both bands are talented equally. Love them both to this day and I'm 55...I love all types of music. Music makes the world go round!!!

I know some say that Dave shouldn't have been fired from Metallica but he really was more a front man but he also had some serious drug issues, not that the others didn't, but his stuff was darker than what Metallica were into, however, he really was needing to be head of his on band. Now, Megadeth had success but Metallica kept ahead of them until Rust in Peace. I saw them on this tour opening for Judas Priest's Painkiller tour with Testament and this album is brilliant from start to finish. I love Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax, but in 1990 Megadeth's Rust in Peace was a total banger, as you would put it, because the two Daves got clean and hired Marty Friendman and the late Nick Menson and that became the Megadeth of the '90s. They were, and as far as I'm concerned, the best technical trash band. Good choice dude!

Ayyyy here we go, this is thrash, began in like 80-82 in CA with Metallica, NY with Anthrax, Venom in the UK, and Slayer from... I don't even know lol, then there was Exodus, which is the band Kirk Hammett from Metallica began in. He happened to be a student of Joe Satriani's along with Steve Vai. The singer here is Dave Mustaine, he's the guitarist Kirk Hammett *replaced in Metallica when they parted ways

This is Thrash Metal. It's what Bach and Beethoven probably would be playing if they were alive today. It's the current style of music that takes the most skill and technical ability to play like classical music of the past. You can't just pick up guitars and strum stuff out.
