its hard to explain through text, but this is E F# and G# major in semi-open form. You might be missing the thumb over the top. he is playing them in an open slide so he can have the high E remain open the whole time, and the low E sporadically. Otherwise this could be played in a normal fingering. Nowadays he might even play it more muted when its not acoustic. Also you can see his pointer finger controlling whether the Gsharp is a G sharp major or G sharp minor. also the pinky is going full on the front of the chord on the 5th string instead of the rear power. And you can play around with that pinky to do the same thing on the major and minor intonations.
