Message to Influencers and Community from OJK Don't be tempted by Binary Options Promos and Illegal

The Financial Services Authority (OJK) confirmed that it had never issued a permit for binary options and forex trading robot activities. OJK Spokesperson Sekar Putih Djarot, as quoted from an upload on the official OJK Instagram account on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, reminded influencers to check the legality of the services that will be promoted to protect the public from illegal investments.
"If you are offered an investment, first make sure the legality of the company and its products," he explained through the @ojkindonesia account. OJK also strictly prohibits banks from facilitating binary options and forex trading robots suspected of containing elements of fraud, gambling, or ponzi schemes. Along with this, OJK also reminds influencers to market legal financial products and services.
Influencers are asked to ensure that these financial products and services have permission from the authorized institutions in Indonesia. This is so that the people themselves are not trapped in illegal investments. Sekar added that crypto assets and commodity futures products such as gold, forex, foreign exchange, and others are not financial products or services licensed by the OJK. However, the licensing, regulation, and supervision are under the Commodity Futures Trading Supervisory Agency (CoFTRA) of the Ministry of Trade.
