I really appreciated this today, thank you. And yes, I have been told on a few occasions I was slapping Jesus in the face for not eating port...*sigh* How silly!

Have you considered having an interview with Sean Griffin from Kingdom in Context? I think it would make for a great show.

My opinion on the way you use the term “temporal” seems flawed. Consider The term “mortal”. All the ceremonial cleansing laws were given within the context of mortal men interacting with the Holy tabernacle, which was a copy of the one in heaven, and then with the temple that Solomon built.

Paul does not change anything of the Jewish calendar in his mission to the Gentiles. He leniency is due to respecting the civic life of Roman citizens as some were slaves or wives where they may not be able to break free from their obligations. Paul notes that many were meeting daily in homes. Where this Gentile revisionism to abandon any, and I mean any acknowledgement of days and feasts is not right. This is why we have amillennialism and postmillenialism is slipping into assemblies.

That distinction between the “law of sin and death, law of Moses” and “law of nature+written law+patriarchal law+tradition” makes 0 sense theologically and practically 😂. It’s about as convoluted as you can get. Oi oi oi some people man.

Shaul is a PHARISEE with a 'legalistic' worldview. He thinks of everything in terms of Law. That is how he thinks and correspondingly, that is how he speaks. Therefore, if you want to get down to the truth of his arguments you'll have to learn how to see things from his 'legalistic' viewpoints rather than from your own 2000 year-removed reasonings .

Romans 7:22-24 ESV [22] For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being, [23] but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. [24] Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Romans 8:6-8 ESV [6] For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. [7] For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot. [8] Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. John 8:34-36 ESV [34] Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin. [35] The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. [36] So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. Galatians 4:30-31 ESV [30] But what does the Scripture say? “Cast out the slave woman and her son, for the son of the slave woman shall not inherit with the son of the free woman.” [31] So, brothers, we are not children of the slave but of the free woman. Galatians 5:1 ESV [1] For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. Romans 6:6 ESV [6] We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. Romans 6:17-19 ESV [17] But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, [18] and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness. [19] I am speaking in human terms, because of your natural limitations. For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification. Mark 7:6-13 ESV [6] And he said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, “‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; [7] in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ [8] You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men.” [9] And he said to them, “You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God in order to establish your tradition! [10] For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.’ [11] But you say, ‘If a man tells his father or his mother, “Whatever you would have gained from me is Corban”’ (that is, given to God)- [12] then you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or mother, [13] thus making void the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And many such things you do.” Acts 10:28 ESV [28] And he said to them, “You yourselves know how unlawful it is for a Jew to associate with or to visit anyone of another nation, but God has shown me that I should not call any person common or unclean.
