Fantastic tutorial for tzitzits. Q: why is the tzitzit so long and why are the blue yarn strands even longer? Toda and Shalom

They were perfect, but I have a question about the number of cords, I've seen them with 10, 8, 7... Is there a correct number?

Shalom and Thank You! Excellent video and concept for the kits. When I first heard about the two partially made ones, I thought, "Why?" But, as you presented it, it made perfect sense why you do it that way. Excellent teaching technique. I am going to make a jig right now and get tying. I especially like the braided ones you show at the very end.

Question..why is the blue strand longer?
@mtoi6 жыл бұрын
The blue strand is longer by tradition. Because the tradition goes back thousands of years it would be only a guess at this point what started the tradition.

What is the wooden tool you use and where can I buy it?
@mtoi5 жыл бұрын
It looks like something from a craft store, I would recommend contacting a local store and ask them for something used to do macramé. You could even show them the video.

in mtoi do all woman wear tzitzit?
@mtoi6 жыл бұрын
Not all of them do. Rabbi Steve teaches that the instruction is intended for the men and that the women are welcome to wear them as there is no instruction against them wearing them. Many of the married women, whose husbands wear them, don't wear them as they are covered by their husbands. There is much more to this and Rabbi Steve will be addressing the issue at some point in the near future.

@@mtoi isn't it for the children of Israel as stated in numbers? wouldn't that be women too? will he be making a video teaching on this? since my husband is not a believer and im not covered spiritually under him so to speak how does that affect me? blessings, thank you.

The children of Israel in Numbers is referring to the men, as all instructions were given to the men to then instruct their families. Yes, he will be doing a teaching on this sooner than later. For your question about your husband and spiritual coverings, please contact MTOI directly for counsel for further explanation. In brief: You're not required to wear them, even if your husband isn't inside the camp - but you're welcome to wear them.

@@mtoi Hello and thank you! the reason I'm asking is because I don't see alot of women wearing them. 119 minsitires has a teaching which explains the translation of children in Numbers 15 and Deut 22 is Ben, which is the same translation in Leviticus 11:2 and Leviticus 18:2 referring to the children of Israel Ben= women as well. This is what 119 stresses and I just want to know the truth! thank you again! shalom!
