Understanding the Ruach/Spirit | Part 1

What do you understand about the “Holy Spirit” or “Ruach haChodesh”? Is your understanding congruent with what the Bible reveals? Is this Spirit a separate ‘entity’, co-equal and co-existent with the Creator and the Son?
Rabbi Steve Berkson begins this extremely important teaching series by comparing the Mt. Sinai event in Exodus 19 and 20 with the event found in Acts 2. Amazingly there are quite a few similarities to be discovered as we go into some definitions of words and phrases to be found in the Hebrew and Greek languages, such as, lightnings, thunder, sound, noise, fire, etc.
Also, as Jewish sources suggest, the giving of the Torah on Mt. Sinai happened on what we now know as Shavuot, which is also when the event in Acts 2 happened.

This is great for me. I'm military in Canada. I tried to commit suicide almost a year ago, and almost succeeded. Using a mixture of things. God called me out of death, out of over a decade of atheism and nihilism. Saved my life. Changed me (in progress). My mom put me onto your teachings. I'm motoring through the Bible (reading it front to back, like a novel). I'm pretty new, obviously, but find I agree with and understand your teachings. I'm in the Psalms at the moment, still working through the Bible. And then I'm reading it again. And again. Grabbing a view of the forest before I start to analyze the trees, figuratively speaking. Love your stuff. Keep it up.

Shalom. Praise Yahweh, brother! I came from atheism also. I went through the Baptist Church, Seventh-Day Adventist Church and now have actually recently left the entire system. I systematically studied all their doctrines and found all of them to not completely agree with the word of Yahweh. Keep going strong, brother. Seeing thunders actually makes sense when you consider we don't see wind, yet we see the effects of the wind. I speculate that the thunders were so loud, the sound waves moved things like the wind. Just a thought.

I think this "house" was the Temple, not an upper room. Where would all those of other people from countries that heard in their own languages be? At a pilgrim Feast you'd be at the Temple. This was a very good teaching that moved me.

The term "holy spirit" appears three times in the Hebrew Bible: Psalm 51 refers to "Your holy spirit" (ruach kodshecha)[3] and Isaiah refers twice to "His holy spirit" (ruach kodsho).[4]

It is just the pronunciation of the transliteration of the Hebrew אמן 'amein' (as we know it), which is from the Hebrew word for truth. We say that in a group setting or one-on-one when we agree with what has been said.
