Awwwww. They're like the Club Babies here. So young. So little sense of anything unfortunate to come. And so free. This was a better day.

Came here almost as soon as I’d heard Michael Alig died. Wild to see him so young here, practically carefree. Would never have imagined how it would all turn out for him in a few years, drug addicted and a killer. I wonder if we’ll ever have a phenomena as intense as the club kid one again. RIP to an era, not so much a killer.

His doctor told him he was one of the worst cases of narcissistic personality disorder he’d ever seen. The drugs definitely helped but he had a predisposition to becoming a murderer

This does indeed seem to be a clip from an earlier time before he turned into the infamous enfant terrible. All we can hope for is that Michael Alig will be seen as a cautionary tale in the future. Sadly enough, I've seen more than one twentysomething kid idolize him and want to be the boy that p*sses in others' drinks and gets away with it. As long as there's a sense of power in being young and able to get away with so much bad behavior, there will always be someone willing to overlook where it actually took Alig and still aspire to be a nightmare of excess and narcissism.

@@giggles7179 Alig definitely ruffled some feathers with the upper echelon Club Kids, but Alig hadn't the wherewithal to get away anything. With no "roots" whereof to speak, Alig had not a chance in that world of rich kids gone wild. Alig was a party planner, new to the scene no less, and nothing more. The real ones, the insiders never took him seriously. Alig didn't fully grasp the insider etiquette, which was and is still unspoken and fully understood. The unspoken bond is a strong one.

Michael Alig seemed really cool, calm and confident here, with a vibe that would draw people to him like a magnet. This is a in massive contrast to the recent KZbin videos where he was insecure and obsessed with getting attention. Drugs are bad (RIP).

@sese62273 жыл бұрын
Alig was also battling mental illness & diagnosed with one of the most severe cases of NPD his psychologist had ever seen. Not excusing anything he did during his lifetime, but the older you get, the more severe a lot of metal illnesses/disorders become.... Especially if the illnesses are not medicated properly. He was on & off his meds constantly.

This is probably before Michael Alig was even doing drugs. In the documentary it said that Michael hated drugs. To me, it looks like Michael copied James St. James and then ran with it and took all the credit.
@gerrymin62987 жыл бұрын
you gotta read james' book. they both got into drugs because of keoki. plus james didn't like the club kids, their aesthetics and moral but he decided to roll with it. and yes, michael really did hate drugs at the beginning.

James says that he started doing drugs to get closer to Keoki, because James was absolutely infatuated with him. Michael wasn't doing drugs at the time so James treated it as precious alone-time with Keoki.

@@hypehype666 yeah james n keoki use to go on trips together without telling their boyfriends and would always go off together and go on coke binges. In the interview with james and keoki he tells the story about this video and how it was the first time james ever did coke and james said how he liked keoki for about a year then he layed off.

There's got to be some Nelson Sullivan videos where Angel appears. I remember in the 'Party Monster: A Shockumentary,' there were clips where Angel could be scene, and he seemed very shy to be on camera, trying to hide his face or leave the frame, and I believe the videos were shot by Nelson. In fact, there's one video with Michael sitting looking at something, and Angel comes by smiling and pets him on the head 😕 Watch the Party Monster documentary (you can find it here in 5 parts-- rutube.ru/video/cb70383f5de61ff6f05d652bdc00d1d6/ -- to see the clips of Angel I mentioned.
