Christina, in a good mood

Christina was in a pretty good mood the night Nelson Sullivan visited her in April 1989. Nelson engaged in a thoughtful conversation there with Christina's friend Linda. It was all about the reality of video and Nelson's ideas about that. Sad to think that Christina and Nelson did not make it to the end of that year, one probably overdosed from all the pain and suffering (Christina) and Nelson just happened to have a weak heart... You can see how exhausted he was just by walking 2 flights of stairs. Putting all that into perspective and the two sitting along with their friend talking about people's pain and how hopefully the world in general would be more aware about it in the future is just nostalgic and remarkably sad.

i stayed there in 2009. it’s actually a very peaceful place. the walls are thick concrete so you don’t hear anything. it’s a nice atmosphere. i stayed for 3 days. there’s art everywhere in the hallways. they were actually filming a tv show when i was there.

I love Christina's giggle. Agree I was 6 or 7 years old around this time period and would often visit Manhattan when I'd stay with my dad & this is defitnely the Ny that I remember from that age . The music and fashion an grittiness of the city is so nostalgic to me even though I was so young it reminds me of that whole era & I hate how Ny has changed so much now. Yes crime is down since the 80s but Ny lost its soul and now it's a little too clean..it's hard to explain but my dad agrees. Nyc was a crime ridden dirty place in the 80s till around the mid to late 90s but it had character. Nelson seems like he'd be an amazing, insightful good friend that would help out anyone. He also appreciated the beauty an rawness of the city in the 80s. There are not many people like Nelson around nowadays. I did not even know him yet I miss him. I think I've watched all of his videos at least twice. They are just fascinating. Nelson is so charming and gracious and adorable, in that soft southern way...I adore him, the face he made when the music sounded ominous, my roommate in NYC in the 80s who passed on from AIDS did that same face, it gave me a little shiver
