Skylar, showing your home that is messy is a brave thing to do. I on the other hand, never leave anything on the floor due to someone may trip and fall! I told my kids when they were little, and they picked up their toys. I know 5 kids are way more than 2, but safety was my reason. It is still the same today. Love your videos! I love your humor so much! Thank you for keeping it real, Skylar. It was not even that much of a mess, considering your family was sick. It just looked lived in. 6-people-lived-in. Snuggling with sick kids is much more important than a spotless home. And to the few people who said the kids should pick up toys even if they are sick... heck, when I'm sick I don't feel like cleaning up, and I'm an adult.

Skyler when I was raising my kids, I ran my own daycare for 17 1/2 years and my house was always clean but the toys were always out and about my saying was if you came to see me great but if you came to see my home, don’t let the door hit you on the way out don’t ever worry about how your house looks. you take great care of your kids and that’s what’s important. This just hit home. I have been sick for the last couple days, my kids are fine. But man when mama is sick it seems the bare minimum is done. I actually came to KZbin to watch something while I’m putting off doing the dishes, thanks for the inspiration! Also I just gotta say go Shayden! I worked at Walmart while I was his age and it was very eye opening. I think everyone should work in retail and/or fast food at some point.

Used to be a constant Oinker at home. Only because I hated washing dishes & other housework by hand. Now I have a Dishwasher, but we did move house about 2 months ago. My Partner & I had neighbouring Units & now we are in a House with a Man Cave & we aren’t now tripping over my Partner’s Boys Toys & could easily now Park a Car in there too. We only have 1 car as I don’t drive. So we can easily put a Visitors Car in the Man Cave if they have come from somewhere else that’s too much of a Hike to drive back to their home where they live. I don’t let anyone drive over tired or Drunk. We can lock their car away from Bad Weather or Having tree branches fall down on their car & damage it & people can’t steal it for a Joyride.

My kids used to tip out lego on a soft blanket, then I just lifted it and it funnelled straight back into the tub - my house was always like this. Thanks for normalising !

Dishes will get done eventually and toys will be put back in bins. Dont stress it! I'm the 4th kid in my family and my mom just stopped caring about a spotless house. Toys and kid mess was abundant I'm sure, but that's not what I remember. P.S. Congrats to Shayden!

It’s called life. If you are sick along with your kids the house is going to look crazy. As you clean up you might want to begin throwing things away that are not age appropriate. The kiddos are getting bigger. As far a nesting I pure get into a cocoon. Wrapped in blankets like a mummy.

The cool thing is if everything has a place where it belongs then that must should take less than an hour to put away. Minus sweeping and mopping. I don't think messes are anything to be ashamed of butt when there isn't a place to put things is when it gets incredibly overwhelming❤
