Really lovely how well you looked after the dog, no matter what at least he’s been cared for a for few weeks!

Hi Shauna, thank you. He was such a big part of our time there, we will forever associate our time in Mestia with him.

Wow, wow, wow. Those views on your hike were absolutely stunning. And the walking poles came out too! IMHO this is your best vlog yet. I guess it must have been sad to leave the dog and such a great spot by the river. As you said, the views from your windows were spectacular. No wonder you enjoy a glass or two of red when it is only £2.50 for 3 litres. Looking forward to your next episode.

Hi Peter, thank you for the support and always appreciate the feedback (be sure to tell me when it's rubbish too 😀). We really loved Georgia and that spot in particular was pretty special but yes, the dog situation is hard to accept, can't imagine how they survive in winter. Needless to say, we have a cheeky few bottles in reserve for Turkey. Cheers, P&I

Hi Gordon, as always thank you, he still brings a smile to our faces when watching the video but it also fills me (Phil) with guilt. Sadly, he really is one of hundreds of thousands in Georgia but doing a little can only help. 😀

Agreed with Kev Duckworth .. the dog seems gaining some fat in just a few days you've been fed it .. As always .. you'd show stunning views all around .. Nice video

Hi Amanda it wasn't really on our agenda this year, but also when we looked, we decided against it as it's advised not to visit by the UK government. Phil's military background and our blogging activities probably not the most helpful in getting a visa either. Also, you have to pay a carnet of 60% of the value of the vehicle (returnable), which we were very uneasy about.

Hello Paul, I am currently in Georgia (baking hot), having the same experiences as you. For instance, we got stuck in exactly the same market near Trabzon. Turned in the same spot, in fact (no option). Also, I so very nearly bought your truck, in June last year... it was made by "CopyCat UK" I believe, imitating Unicat. Ex RAF originally. It was very clean and low miles, etc. I was concerned about the weight, did you have it re-plated at a higher weight? I just couldn't see it being under 7500kg. And over 7500, I thought the 335 tyres would be on their very weight limits. And the box height was a bit concerning. But it is a fantastic layout inside, much more modern, and the cab is far more friendly and roomy than our Unimog. I had the same complaints about the steps arrangement, glad you got that re-engineered. In the end we bought a Unimog that I had been following on and off ebay over the last few years. Maybe you saw it, the blue one with the big cab roof rack??? Much more old and basic in the box though, than your MAN. We spent a fortune improving it, probably like you with lithiums etc etc. WE had a similar experience with breakdowns in Turkey, a big ball bearing in the portal axle went, then the seals went. Turkey is THE place to break down. Fixed, sorted, and so cheap. Hope you have a lot of fun in the MAN! Saying goodbye to the dogs is painful. Same as you with travel options with the borders. Ho hum... Jon

Hi Jon, great to see another Brit enjoying Georgia. All's good at this end & re truck, yep it's up plated to 8.4t and we run pretty much at that (we've been on the weigh bridge). After a few tyre issues & a bit of research we're well within, in fact the Dunlops on the front have a higher weight capacity, we also keep the speed to 80kph these days so nowhere near the 110kph max. Otherwise we're really happy with it, I think it was the layout & super clean condition that sold it but yeah we've spent a fair few quid sorting things out. Love that you had to spin round in the same market place, we're already appreciating being back in Turkiye as we've had a few little truck issue's which were sorted quickly at various Turkish garages. I believe the Azerbaijan land border date has slipped yet again to the 1 Nov, not sure if you're aware but you can only keep your rig in Georgia for 60 days max before having to import it (90 days for under 3.5t). Safe travels & hopefully we'll cross paths on the road so we can check out your MOG 😀 Cheer Phil & Izzy

@@TheGapDecaders Thanks for that. I'm ducking into Turkey today, and then might access Armenia from there, as I don't have many days left in Turkey until the 180 rolls over in 2 months. I believe they opened a border between themselves at last. Thanks for the help. Then I'll head over to Morocco for winter from Gerona, as the ferry is probably cheaper than the diesel to Spain! My wife is Chinese and had to return to the UK for a Chinese visa, she'll be flying over there very soon, from the UK. It's all doable in the end. Happy trips!
