Met Police apologises for failing to protect domestic murder victims

The Metropolitan Police has issued an unreserved apology after admitting it failed to protect two female victims in a double domestic homicide.

Last month, 66 year old Carl Cooper was sentenced to life for killing Naomi Hunte and Fiona Holm, 17 months apart.
Both black and vulnerable women had reported Cooper to police for harassment, stalking and violence in the months before they were killed.
Fiona Holm's family said they were disgusted by police failures and want an independent inquiry into what went wrong.
The force says four officers are under investigation.

Confirmed today 13/08/24 by sky news a woman is killed by a man every 3days. Unfortunately this women here had some mental health issues and clearly couldn't safe guard themselves. That said, Women and men *yes men! be ready to protect yourselves or it may be too late before the police gets to you. @@inevski Offensive speech is a basic human right and any legislation used to limit or censor it is inherently immoral. Providing the speech does not incite violence it must be allowed no matter how offensive it might be to certain sections of society. Police are effectively enforcement through the threat of violence, so to use them by passing legislation curtailing speech that offends is equally as immoral as incitement to violence through speech. Using FB to incite people to attack a hotel should be punished. Writing a racist FB post should not by punished through the law as it's free speech... terming it as incitement to hatred is merely rhetoric for censorship apologists on their immoral stance.
