I find it funny that everyone is calling this a victory. Zuck is just seeing that his platform is falling behind, and he saw how Elon saved a bunch of money and nobody cared so he is just following in his footstep. Really all that happened is that they realized they wouldn't get backlash if they did a round of layoffs on their fact checkers. I think there's 2 main possible reasons for the cultural shift in politics: 1. Is that an acceptable scenario? I don't think so, most people wouldn't find it so. Now in a real context say that is a woman talking about verbal abuse she receives from male coworkers and a bunch of men enter the thread repeating said abuse. This is the same scenario but with actual context, the people that perpetuated the abuse would have their ability to speak revoked on the platform.
