1:06 I'm pretty sure that the adapter doesn’t provide more power to the IEM or the benefits of a balanced output. It’s just a compatibility adapter, it’s still 3.5mm at the end 🤔
@or1on89Ай бұрын
It's a weird move...and it's risky to use depending on how the grounding pins are wired. I'd personally just use either the cable as is or one of the 4.4mm cables I already have at home...
@substance90Ай бұрын
He meant more power because some portable DACs provide more power on the 4.4mm output compared to the 3.5mm
@Hoods_Ай бұрын
@@substance90 Yes, a true 4.4mm balanced cable does gives more power, but you can't make a 3.5mm unbalanced cable balanced just by using an adapter.
@or1on89Ай бұрын
@@substance90 It does through a balanced connection...through an unbalanced one you only risk to fry the amp and destroy the sound of the IEM. They should've sone what Moondrop did: 4.4mm balanced cable with an adapter to 3.5mm to give the best of both worlds. In fact I read a communication from Hisenior that you can make the swap to the latter solution...I try to contact them but still no answer...
@pepin21927 күн бұрын
Hisenior confirmed the adapter didnt work and it could damage your amp/dap. The adapter is straight indeed. The other way around from 4.4 balance headphone jack to 3.5 output from an amp is fine.

This is a special iem. Scales up with power. I dont think it has as much bass as you infer, actually sounds balanced to me. Bassheads would want to go for the Punch if you want more rumble and still have a similar sublime upper mids and treble experience. Both are impressive in tone, timbre, layering, imaging and smoothness overall.

I have the FiiO FA19 and in your review said it's the best FiiO IEMs you've heard. I bought the FiiO FA19 and they're my first IEMs and I thought 'Wow!' they're the best sound I've heard and better than all my headphones. The Monitor vs HiFi switch is interesting. The Base in Monitor Mode is very good and I kept switching and at the moment I have it in HiFi Mode. I like Base so my question is wants the Base like - Mega5EST Base Edition vs FiiO FA19 HiFi Mode? I have FiiO M17 and the Max Volume is 120 and with FiiO FA19 I have the Volume on 40-42 very load. I also have the KANN ULTRA Max Volume 150 and with FiiO FA19 I have the Volume if I remember correctly about 60 or less than 70 so the FiiO FA19 is very load and Great Base.

The bass on the Hisenior Mega5est Bass+ hits harder than the FA19 and has more of a physical, tactile feel. You can really feel it as much as you hear it. It’s punchier with a strong slam, but the FA19 does have more detailed bass.

Jesus! Eh not for me. The thing is new meta already have a lot of bass and newer products have started to offer tunings that tuck the bass shelf even lower; normal 200 hz shelf makes any meta IEM sound rather bassy or boxy in the bass. Ke4 is a good example of this. So 150 hz is the way to go for most cases.

The thing with impedance adapters is that their impact on hybrid IEMs with BAs and ESTs can be a bit unpredictable. I’ve noticed that impedance adapters are typically used with IEMs that have one or two dynamic drivers, though I’m not sure why that is. Adding a switch is a nice idea though.
