Ah Timmy man, sorry to hear you hit burn out I have noticed you hit a lot of videos in a short time period, take care dude we need you fit and healthy. I guess there’s a slower release the Calum before the storm of more iem releases, talking of which I’m so looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Fat Freq Duece, when your ready and have it 😄. Meanwhile it’s awesome learning more tools and tricks, helps discover new possibilities and understanding FR/graphs. Great to see you back 🤙

The fact that bass texture is affected by upper mid and treble is mind blowing. Gonna try it out to increase the tactility and texture on my Scar mini
@lawrencewang33275 ай бұрын
Likewise subbass adjustments can affect how things like cymbals can come across. A ride/crash has a surprising amount of subbass texture to it depending on how the drummer is playing.

If you look at the spectogram of drum kits/bass guitars they actually have harmonics past the bass region. HBB explains it well in his videos.

I want emphasis on Male Vocals . How to EQ that? My 7hz zero sounds bassy to me . Male vocals sound thin.6 year old Tin T2 sounds more neutral to my ears than 7hz zero. Isn't there any FLAT iems in budget segment?

Hi! It'd be really nice if you linked the previous video either in the description, or as a pop-up when you mention it. That way viewers can easily go and watch that video instead of ignoring it because they don''t want to search through your channel page to find it

thanks for covering this! one question: how can I reduce sibilance with EQ? I'm guessing it's around 6k or 8k region but can't quite pinpoint...
@Gizaudio5 ай бұрын
8K :)
@xeruskun5 ай бұрын
Use tone generator in squigs, and find the peak that hurts the most, then reduce it to around -5dB or less. Finding sibilance can be hard cause it is sometimes caused by upper treble peak which graphs don't usually represent properly.

I've heard that while we can't hear anything about 20K, we might still be able to perceive some of the air above the 20K freq, is there any truth to that?

Without examples, this is all pure theory and absolutely incomprehensible. Again, it’s not clear whether to adjust the equalizer for each song or what to do if you listen to different genres.
@pimlicosound5 ай бұрын
Start by EQing to match a recognised target frequency response. That should give you a neutral-ish sound that works for everything. For most people, that’s enough. You might feel you then want to tweak the bass/treble per song if you don’t like hearing differences between songs, but that’s a matter of preference.
@Gizaudio5 ай бұрын
Ahhh no one EQ for each song as far as I know. EQ is to remedy things you don't like about your IEM's tuning.

All EQ does is change how (often destroys how) the track sounds. It is impossible to alter a frequency response from EQ. Good video as always though.

I mean if you know how it works it definitely makes everything well when used right even when making songs, the producers use some eq to enhance or adjust it to an effect that they like from the mics or those elements that make the beats and accompanied rhythm
@mehmetgurdal5 ай бұрын
Gee I wonder how the track would sound "different" with the SAME frequency response. :D
