To all the new people in VR you can use the Quest 2/3 all day without having to worry about it dying by getting a 3rd Party cable like the JSAUX Link Cable or Kuject Link Cable that allows your Quest 2/3 to stay charged while playing without getting below like 80% or so. There is nothing more annoying than exploring the things in the headset and then right when you're ready to get into a game or app the headset dies. lol

That's not how it works. If you're short sighted you still have to wear glasses with the headset. The displays are milimiters away from your eyes, but what makes things blurry is your eyes' failure to focus for far distances, which it still has to do to get the stereoscopic 3D effect.

That's because there LITERALLY isn't anything that's indisputably better! 🤷 Even the $1000 for JUST the headset (aka no base stations or controllers, it's more like ≈$1500 w/ those) Bigscreen Beyond has significantly worse lenses (WAAAAAAY more glare & reflections than Meta's custom pancakes), a smaller FOV, no wireless support (even just wireless tethering, let ALONE full standalone capability), AND a lower refresh rate (90Hz at reduced Quest 2-ish res & just 75Hz at the full 2560x2560p res, vs up to 120Hz at whatever res the Q3 game/PC can handle). For a properly "complete VR package" you simply cannot do better than the Quest 3 atm, no matter HOW MUCH MONEY you decide to spend. 🤷

Play 10 minutes the first couple times. Then move it to 20 after 10 doesn't cause problems and gradually increase. Certain games will still probably cause problems, but you should be fine with the vast majority.

@@Miku-yu5iu In my experience (and several others) using the quest 2 to play steamvr entails some awful stutter among other issues. Whether playing wired or wireless, the stutter is persistent unless games are launched through the oculus runtime. For example, blade and sorcery runs fine when playing through the oculus run time but is an awful experience when playing through native steamvr.

why do the controllers run on AA batteries? It should come with a docking station that you can put the two controllers and headset on to charge. What are we still in the early 2000s here?

Big mistake in the review :/ The XR2 Gen 2 is 2.5 times more powerful than the XR2 Gen 1 according to Qualcomm. Not "up to 50%" And according to Meta, it is 2 times more powerful (they are being conservative since it's more than that).

They might be taking into consideration things like higher FOV and higher resolution, higher FOV means more things to render so you end up losing some performance there
