Appreciate your channel and knowledge🙏 Can you cover how urine ph reflects acid base reactions in body? We have a range of normal when you have a lab rest but if ph is very acidic all the time or on the alkaline all the time. How does that relate to health? Thanks

Wait if we're giving potassium sparing diuretics, they would already increase K+ within the body right? If that's the case why are we giving them KCl again?

7:30 Something I didn't understand in compensatory metabolic alkalosis that if CO2 is made to decrease, H+ will decrease but through the equation that u'v shown in the board, the bicarbonate should also decrease as reaction goes in backward direction. Yes??
@user-kt2ln7sj1sАй бұрын
given that copd is a chronic condition, the kidney will continuously reabsorb bicarbonate from the tubules even if the equation shifts to left. Also, although the kidney can compensate for acidosis by reabsorbing bicarbonate ions, it wont for H+ ions . Therefore the blood ph wont be able to maintain stable pH in compensatory m. alkalosis. It is important to adjust the ventilator settings corretly as for the condition itself is named "hyper"capnic.
