Yeah, I searched for this video because the notes from my teacher are a total mess - she makes very sloppy explanations of things, skips steps, forgets to clearly point out what some variables are supposed to represent etc, which makes everything extremely tiresome to read. This video was much more to the point.

Just been reading about the disappearance of the ship Waratah, where a witness stated that he thought the metacentre was below the centre of gravity. This explains it nicely. Thank you.

I understood very well from my classes in the Maritime University here in Romania all this GM idea but I had to do some digging to better understand because teachers just waitted for quick finishing the class and they didn't care if we know something or not. This video is very helpfull and I thank you for this! I am Third Mate on container ships.

video conveys illustrations or animations plus coherent english. lecturers standing in front of the whiteboard with whiteboard markers are unable to do just that.

sir thank you for your helpful video but i have 3 questions 1- When is the pontoon is naturally stable ? 2- Two ways to improve the apparatus reading are ? 3- What will happen if we change the density of the fluid, using brine, say, instead of fresh water ?

You do not need a liquid to observe buoyancy. What about helium, warm air etc rising. I realise that density plays a part. What is the connection between buoyancy, density and gravity?

It seems to convey that buoyant force exerts restoring couple with gravity force when M is above G even in tilted position. Otherwise it will sink.

weight of the fluid displaced is not equl to the weight of the body. it is equl to the buyoncy force applied on the body. correct me if iam wrong

Hello, i am making a simple simulation of boat. With the purpose that this simulation can give me best shape of a lower part of a boat in water and that boat has good aerodinamic.
