Triple J is owned by the abc (aussie equivalent of the bbc). They have a 5 minute section per week called like a version. It's recorded AND PLAYED live at about 8:30 in the morning. The highlights of the yr go on to a CD. Needless to say this was on it. It also came in at #5 on the top 100 songs of the yr period by the station in the most recent "hottest 100, its a yearly tradition". The INCREDIBLE part of that fact is that the ONLY other metal/hard rock song on the hottest 100 for a decade was in that same yr. Slipknot. At #97. The previous metal song in a top 10 was chop suey by soad a decade earlier. Thats the impact it had

It’s funny. On a technical level, BOP is super, super simple. But it doesn’t work without an absolutely power/rage packed performance. Heard a lot of people try to do this over the years with zero luck, but Denzel kills it.

The guitarist obviously isn't Tom Morello and and a rapper actually singing hard is cool. I did like he updated one verse saying "Donald Trump Donald Duck what's the difference what the fuck" I'm 47... I was in my early teens when Rage came out but his own little riff was pretty good

Hendrix: all along the watchtower......these are exceptions not many things are better remade, I generally am put off by covers, but this was a good one

agree the guitar tone does not fit...too much bass in the sound, not enough mids, Morello has an upper mid even treble focused guitar sound, Its decent, but Morello tends to let the bass player do the heavy lifting there, I think it sits better in the mix, still I guess he tried it different , cant fault trying something new

Covers are good as a learining musician for learning chords, runs and licks or whatever, eve some composition, but really I stopped trying to play covers years ago, I would rather learn to play my own stuff haha (25+ years on guitar, still pretty crap lool, but I can blag it ok)
