I'm so surprised that you didn't like the first modulation. It's my favorite part of this song and I have always been impressed with how JK finds the pitch out of nowhere. (I guess having perfect pitch would help...)

the song is supposed to feel wierd , to make you feel like this is unfamiliar . it is intelligent that a song can make you feel emotion in some type of way .

Actually, this is one of my favorite songs. There is a behind the scenes where the 3 of them talk about this. It was written in 2019, which was the year after BTS went through a rough time, and also they were thinking ahead that they would be enlisting soon (until the pandemic hit). think it had more to do with that, but your interpretation was beautiful. My father had dementia the last 14 years of his life. It's just awful! They performed this song live - love it.

the transitions to the chorus always sticks out for me in this . Its the only part i do not like in the song
