Great detail on the 1889 Indian. Hell of a hunt with all of those silvers. The 1910 S Barber dime is a semi key date.
@WICoinShooter2 ай бұрын
@Wilton925 Thanks! I took a closer look at that Indian and it has full diamonds. One of the nicest ones I've dug for sure. I didn't look up the 1910-S dime in my Red Book until the next day. With only 1.2 mil minted, I think it's my lowest mintage coin dug too. I'm torn between F12 and VF20. Probably F12

Great day of hunting 5 silvers, how do you clean coins? They can out great. Thanks for sharing.
@WICoinShooter2 ай бұрын
@DetectDigSmile Thanks! For coppers, I have several methods, each more intense than the one before, depending on how dirty/crusty it is. I try warm water and dish soap first with a soft toothbrush. Next, if needed, I use a stiff nylon brush with the warm soapy water. This will take care of about 70-80% of them. Next, I use Andre Pencils very carefully to scrape bad corrosion off. Lastly, it's vinegar and salt solution with the stiff brush until the surface is clean. This last step removes patina, and I only use it for extreme cases. I have Diller's Coin Duller to retone to a nicer brown color. Unless I go all the way with salt and vinegar, I rub a little olive oil on them and wipe them dry when I'm done to give them a slight glossy look. The oil treatment doesn't hurt them.

Awesome hunt very nice finds what how do you clean your pennies? God Bless and happy dirt fishin…Virgil
@WICoinShooter2 ай бұрын
@wildmandigging3486 Thanks Virgil! I use two different brushes depending on how stubborn the dirt is. I soak them in soapy water first. Then I use a soft toothbrush, and if that don't work enough, I use a stiff nylon brush. They're on ebay and marketed as coin brushes. They're gray with a wide brush on one end and narrow brush on the other. The wide end has a V shaped notch. That brush works wonders!

I live in New York State, and I can't find old pennies without terrible oxide formations. Must be our soil is much more destructive. What State were these found in?
@WICoinShooterАй бұрын
@@twowordsmadeinamerica I'm in Wisconsin. I've been wanting to take a trip further east to find some older IHP, maybe a fatty. A shield nickel is now on top of my bucket list!

What do Indians typically ring up on the manticore? Yet to find one with mine
@WICoinShooter2 ай бұрын
@stephencurry599 I wish there was a straight answer to that. On the kitchen table, they come up the same as zinc pennies. Everything comes up higher on my Manticore for some reason. For example, the perfect nickel signal on mine is 33. Indians and zinc pennies come up 65-70 but vary in the ground depending on depth and nearby trash targets. I've dug Indian pennies as high as 85 and low as 55.
