I finally got permission to detect a tiny downtown spot and it is loaded with Silver Coins, Old Coins and Relics! What an awesome day of metal detecting! It was an absolute blast out there metal detecting and Finding America with my Minelab Equinox 800.

I appreciate the concern but you may not realize what is involved when I'm out detecting. I dig it all and I hunt hard when I am out there. I always have. I dig at least 100 holes each time I am out there and I do not use a large shovel to dig with. I get up and down each time and dig using a hand digger. It's a workout when I'm out there and any breathing you hear is because of the physical effort and exertion required for the non-stop digging and detecting I am doing out there, not because of a physical ailment. The only physical ailment I have (knock on wood) is a seriously bum right knee but I just work through it so I can metal detect and make my episodes. :)

DITTO! My day is a 3-4 hour hunt typically consisting of 50-100 holes dug with a hand trowel on my knees. Celebrating 70 this year, it’s a workout. But I wouldn’t swap it for anything!

I’m 45 now. Was lucky enough to play at a high level in football and basketball in college. I was shocked how physically demanding one short afternoon of metal detecting is. It’s like a combination of rugged hiking, hundreds of sit-ups and push-ups, and intense yoga/stretching all in one. Nothing exactly like it. It helped me get back in shape after a very long time!

Yes metal detecting is very strenuous when you dig it all. I'm seventy six and sometimes just dig high tones but come back and dig the iron targets. Really enjoy your videos. Keep digging.

Later, as a kid in California in the 60s, the school district offered free summer school & I took a few wonderful classes, gave us kids something to do during the summer!
