Not a bad little hunt, a little gold is always nice. A Zany girl and I think your scoop helped back down the sand throwing guy. Scoops are good weapons, they helped me out a few times. Knew a guy that had a custom scoop made, the handle came apart into a sword. I thought it was a little overkill. But he said it had helped him out of a few tight spots. Said he had a few stalkers. Always ready for your next adventure.😊

I keep my pistol on me at all times when detecting, as does my wife. A local detectorist in my town was robbed of his detector a few years back at gun point while detecting a yard. The perpetrator is still in prison. A beach scoop can be swung pretty hard and fast to get distance between you, and may solve the whole problem.

First video I've seen 0f you detecting. So, I decided to subscribe to your channel. If i lived around some beaches, I'd be doing what you are doing. I've got mountains on both sides where I live. And it's a pain finding a lot of buried trash from people. Nice video, by the way, with good finds.

This post got me because I just started detecting and have been to the beach 4 times without finding anything. How many hours would you expect you put in before finding anything of value
@pirateofmiamibeach4 ай бұрын
The more hours the more likely you are to get really lucky and swing over something valuable and actually dig it because the VDI can lie sometimes. Some days I can be out all day and find only a few coins and junk jewelry. If the ocean isn't giving it up you can't force it. Dry sand just run the towel line or above and below the seaweed line to improve your luck.

It’s hard to say ‘no’ when asked nicely by the ‘friendly’ ones. I walked by a bride with her brides maids that were enjoying the beach. She walked up saying she always wanted to metal detect. Had her swing the coil while her group watched and when she got a beep I helped ‘pinpoint’ it and she scooped a junker heart ring (that I had found earlier)She ran back showing her friends the ring she ‘found’. We both parted happily.

So why was that dude throwing sand at you in the first place?
@pirateofmiamibeach8 ай бұрын
I didn't see him come up till last second. I am guessing I was crowding his trash can while throwing out some of the trash I collected while metal detecting. You never know with these guys cause they will come at you mostly at night when you are out there. This is a first for them to try me in the day time. They live off of other people how ever by looting or raiding the trash cans. This guy was doing this for a few hours before he came at me and people complain and nothing was done. For me I can for sure defend myself but residence and tourist are not the same here as me. They don't want to deal with this. I leave this to the bad ass Miami Beach PD who you don't want to be on the wrong side of and they do a great job of keeping the city safe.

It's definitely harder now than what it used to be. I worked Clearwater Beach for 9 hours yesterday in the water. I found 2 rings a jungsten and 925. Between the price of gas and parking I lost money this time around. Not to mention my feet and lower back are sore today. I've been watching the wind forecast. The same wind that has been driving high waves in Miami is also laying the surf down on the West coast. That's also making the water crystal clear so people can see their jewelry on the bottom. Hopefully, the wind will shift around by the end of the month. I'd like to head down to Miami Beach for Memorial Day weekend and see what I can find.
@pirateofmiamibeach8 ай бұрын
Yeah Memorial day weekend will be crazy. The surf is crazy right now and that is just the way it is in May. Too hot to go on land during the day. I will try to get out tomorrow weather water or land.
@chuckburroughs64278 ай бұрын
Memorial day weekend will be a great time I think. My wife and I planned our vacation in Galveston,TX for that weekend, and the rest of the week. Our hotel is real close to the only beach that allows alcohol. It should be a good spot for night detecting finding all the drunk's jewelry. 😂

@pirateofmiamibeach5 ай бұрын
I am on Beach Low Conductors(gold) I run sensitivity at 22 for the dry sand and surf. Water is beach saltwater and 20 sens. Anything above it gets chatters at the beach. Leave your ground balance at zero, manticore auto balances and adjust your noise as needed
