One of the best places to metal detect on an old homestead, abandoned farm house, etc, is to look around the old privy (the outhouse) that is no longer in use. In my past experience metal detecting, I have found interesting treasures in and around the structure with a quarter moon often cut into the upper part of the door. Of course, you want to wear good gloves while working in the area.
@LuckyGin2 жыл бұрын
I can’t say I’ve had the opportunity to detect around a privy yet. 😂 I will keep your advice in mind though if the chance ever pops up.🙂🍀
@jarmstrong28432 жыл бұрын
@@LuckyGin Many folks from the days of old use to hide their valuables in the privy since it was the thinking that location would be the last anyone would look if some one broke into their home. There are some videos on KZbin above about metal detecting around outhouses and old buildings. Ya may want to take a look at some to learn about a new twist in the activity. I used the search term “metal detecting around outhouses”. Some people will even go inside the old abandoned buildings that are on their last legs and search for hidden treasures in the walls with their metal detectors. Even in areas around the base of old trees might be a place to look. Old barns are soften times a treasure trove of great finds. Just don’t look around the wide open spaces like fields, beaches, etc. Old defunct buildings or near them are many times loaded with metal & other treasures.

Just wondering as you are from Tennessee does that mean you get free Jack Daniels. If you do can you send me some to England. I'll pay for postage 🤣🤣. Love the videos keep it up. I just got into beach metal detecting few years ago and i loved it. Found on my first day out a 1oz 18k gold necklace. And a million can ring pulls. Joys of having fun 🤣🤣

😂😂😂 Jon, I’m from Tennessee and that means we make our own and put it in a good ‘ole mason jar. 😉 If I ever make it to England to detect, I’ll bring you a jar of proper Tennessee hooch. 🙌. Thanks for dropping by my channel. ❤️

Maybe a stupid question, but is there a way I can turn off the music so I can hear what your saying?
@LuckyGin2 жыл бұрын
I’m afraid not. These older videos are from before I added the nice mic system.😔

Just recently joined/subbed. I love your videos, but sometimes the music is too loud (really enjoyed this song) and we miss what you are saying and what you are finding. Thanks and have a great day! 😎

Very cool button not really into relics more of a coin shooter. Here in Colorado don't find much silver coin but yesterday I did 2 in one day. Think I figured it out. So if you ever come to Colorado I could use a pretty face to get some permissions. Lol

Haha, I might not be much help. I can actually be quite shy, especially about asking for things.

Hi Lucky Gin, I'm a new subscriber, I really enjoy your channel, but with one compliant, the music is nice, but not when the music is being played over your voice, I can't hear what you are saying when you are metal detecting. It's always better to hear, that way, we as beginners can fall back on those valuable tips that you share with us. Also, you have a nice voice. But you did find some cool pieces of history, and I dig history the most! and the thrill of the hunt, well, you can't be it! A huge thank you Lucky Gin, I'll catch you on the rebound and Happy hunting, G t E.
