50 years ago when I was in elementary school, each day we would bring a nickel to school. About mid morning a couple of us boys would take a wash tub and those nickels to a milk machine down the hall and fill it with cartons of milk. We would have milk and graham crackers for a snack. Before we ate, we all bowed our heads and the teacher would say grace. That might have been the purpose of that nickel you found. God above, I wish my kids could have had memories like that in the public schools they attended.

Spoon ring made by Oneida Community-Limited in Sherrill, NY. Very popular, unfortunately company went out of business several years ago but was one time the biggest manufacture of flatware been in business since 1800's. A lot of history with Oneida community. They also manufactured many other items including hunting traps which are very valuable. Great job young man, god bless you.

@nuggetnoggin I hunted the yard of a house built in 1921 and found a Canadian penny just like the one you found but mine was dated 1921. I also dug a silver rosie dime and my first Merc dime along the old slate sidewalk. Quite a few modern and wheat pennies too. I was as surprised as you were to find that foreign coin.

My best friend Opie lost that silver dime back when we were in the 3rd grade. We were sittin on the grass eating the cold fried chicken lunch that Aunt Bea packed for us. I think the dime slipped out of Opie's pocket when he reached for his bottle of Nehi pop.
