I think that casing with the numerals on it Kev is part of a timing case (mortar maybe). Some good finds there bud. At last my fields have been cut, time to hunt. All the best and HH.

Your brass piece with the numbers is almost certainly a piece of a fuse to a mortar or other type of artillery round. Very nice 6-pence even though it isn't silver. GL & HH.
