So I’ve been binge watching this channel for ohhh... 3 days or so straight. So awesome, guys! My ACE 400 just showed up this morning and as soon as I finish my bench test, I’m off to dig some history in upstate NY! Thanks for sharing all your adventures and inspiring people like me to get back into the hobby or new people to start! Maybe when the world turns back on we can detect together👍

He tried using the Fish a few months ago. Didn’t last long. He has the ear for the Max now. Both great machines. The Max has the edge
@migukaje5 жыл бұрын
@@thehooverboys I was wondering why he made the switch. I detect in Korea and heard a lot of good things about the F75+ that made me think it might be a good fit (the price, works well in iron environments, etc). The Max does sound really nice and its waterproof too. Trying to figure out which one to buy before my birthday in July. :) If you guys every want to go international, try detecting in Korea with me. The coins here go back to the late 10th Century. Arrow/blade/spade currency goes back even further. My sons and I love you guys and watch all your stuff. Can you demonstrate what happens when you try to fully clean and shine an old copper?

I leave them dirty. Less is better in my opinion

If it’s been explained before I’ve missed it or it was before my time, but why are you hesitant to “rub” coins (especially silver)? As a person who is interested in getting into metal detecting I’m curious to know how to best preserve what I might find.
@Dan-wo4bx6 жыл бұрын
Myeloman silver and gold are soft so if you rub the dirt and grit off there’s a good chance to scratch it up .
@thehooverboys6 жыл бұрын
Yup. We rub coppers but not silver. When it comes to coins, Condition is everything. Surface scratches hurt value and looks terrible on what would have been a beautiful coin. But you can do whatever your heart desires to you Finds. To each their own

@@thehooverboys thanks! I wasn't aware that silver was that soft (gold I knew). Appreciate the info, really enjoying the videos and can't wait to get out there and start saving history myself someday. ;-)

Am I the only one that would have busted out laughing if when Brad did kick up at the end would have cut the loudest fart when he rolled back. You know Kurt would have made sure that made it on film.

What was the thimble-shaped thing that Brad found?

I don't recall. But if you're talking about that small round cap-looking thing that is silver in color, I tested it, and it is also silver. Some sort of clothing adornment, I guess...
