Every time I open my fridge now, this little voice in my head says, "This week on the Hoover Boys...." Gives me a good chuckle. Loved the video. About 17 years ago, I bought a collection of finds from an estate of an amateur archeologist of sorts. Most of the items came from southern Ontario. In the collection was a small jar of buttons, which I ignored for a while. Later, when bored, I went through the jar of buttons and there was one that was unusual. It was bronze-ish and over an inch in diameter, the shank was gone. I stuck it in a drawer with the intent of searching the internet to see if I could identify it. Many months later I pulled it out of the drawer, examined it and started my search. It was a George Washington Inauguration button. What fun. Sadly, I had to sell it to make a mortgage payment. :(

Thanks Kurt, this video means a lot to me. I was absolutely wrecked. It's a rush that I can't explain. Rare coins and coppers are something, but this find, my greatest to date, moved me in a way that I can't describe. My eyes were watering, heart was pounding out of my chest, one of those few instances where you have to walk away from the hole. This find also helped me get my head straight mentally. After damaging one, and even destroying another rare coin, pulling this out of a farm field unscathed by my shovel has really helped the psyche. Huge thanks to all who watched and enjoyed this button coming back to life!

Today I took my citizenship test and passed , one of the questions I was asked was . Who was the first president? I knew the answer and told the Immigration officer I had been to Mount Vernon and seen George Washington’s grave . I got very emotional seeing that button and Listening to You give that history lesson. Kurt I really like your channel and congratulations to Brad , wow amazing find . My citizenship ceremony probably will not be till February. Merry Christmas Andrew .

What do I love most about the Hoover Boys? Their excitement when "Bucket Listers" or other great finds are dug up; very honest and genuine. Love the passion they show for the things they love, to include their family, friends and let's not forget the respect they hold for the land owners. Well done boys, well done.

Congratulations Brad on the amazing find. What makes this extra special is the fact that the whole world has a chance to see some incredible history after being buried in a field all these years. Thanks Kurt for making that happen. I can not imagine all the work that goes into making each episode. It would be so easy to just keep looking for the next target but you stop to document everyone's finds and put it all in context so that we all get to enjoy The Hover Boys and Compny. Take care.

I know I don't comment on mist of your vids due to the fact that I watch them on my smart TV and I can't post anything.... Not to smart if you ask me. Anyways, you peeps have the BEST vids out there and the ones that I feel show the most respect for the hobbies. Also have the most knowledge about the items that you find. There are others out there that fig stuff up and don't have a clue what it is. And I am like WHAT?? You don't know what that is? As I droll on my remote control. Lol Keep up the great stuff. Would be a dream to hunt with you guys even if we found nothing but can slaw. The West has its perks but the old stuff is closer to where you are at. And glad to see you save as much history as you possibly can. Kudos to all of ya. And just to say something personally to Brad... You are SICKINING with all those awesome finds over the past few years. But that is meant in the best of ways. But also takes away nothing from what you Kurt, and Bill and the others have found also. To put it simply.... AMAZING!!!! I love this hobbie too and would love to save more history too. Right now trying to get back at it after knee surgery, and a knee that just doesn't want to play nice now. I am hoping before The ground thaws next Spring. Best of luck to all of ya. And a very MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and yours!!!!

Huge congrats to brad for finding something many of us won't. Now there is a man named Leonard Short who professionally straightens and restores buttons and relics. Since brads is not really broken just bent he should consider getting it straightened. It does take a long time though.
