Finally, we get to metal detect the yard and surrounding woods. We had a blast and found a few interesting artifacts. The wire twists: a thousand, and one uses, but very commonly used to hold hazel twigs etc. on a besom (witches broom) because they didn't corrode like steel, or iron
@stephenstrohacker78636 ай бұрын
That makes more sense than my thought. Copper doesn't work but it reminds me of the wire ties used on radiator hoses...lol. Copper would break before the needed tension is reached.

Biglerville Rd was 5 miles from the home I rented in Dillsburg, PA. Near an early 1820’s horse drawn grist mill & general store (burnt), where, I believe Stuart’s cav raided June 30/July 1 1863. I metal detected my yard & found dozens of artifacts. Incl. an ornate spur, utensils, buttons, a seated 1857 NO mint seated/drilled silver quarter, rope maker, burn pits, pig/cow/horse bones, a complete buried horse, ferrier files, lots of melted lead, harmonica reeds, (no bullets) though. I believe Stuart camped somewhere near this mill…

Hello chigg from England those copper wire with a knot could be used to put on young spruce trees when planting when they put the post in put the young tree against it as copper doesn't rot quickly all the best keep safe thanks for the beautiful historic videos

I detected a small property west of Gettysburg on Rte 30 by Fayetteville (15 miles west or so). That entire road west to there and a little beyond was a major retreat path (1 of 2) used by Lees army after the battle. I found 2 confederate gardener bullets and a sharps union bullet. I didn’t expect that but I bet that whole road has goodies along it. It was a rough haul through the mud and they left carts and stuff behind along the way.
