From what I've seen from the few folks using the Vortex, it's doing a great job of finding targets that have been missed in the past. Cool stuff! ♥

"Pounded ground"....love hearing people say that then keep finding stuff.... just more proof that an area is never fully hunted out! Even back in the 80's guys would go to "hunted out" civil war sites with a newer machine....and darned if they didn't still pop out some great items! Case in point, my boss at the time just got his first Whites machine, brand new to detecting, and was taken to a "hunted out" Georgia camp site....he popped 3 Georgia buttons and a half dime. Another time a friend went to the Dumfries Virginia area and went into a "hunted out" Texas site....found a one piece, silver wash Texas button! No such thing as a "hunted out site"!!! Great hunt, Brandon.... keep hitting it!!!

If the 1914 penny is a Denver mint mark, that’s a key date penny. Top three of the wheat penny collection. Congrats!

Is it possible to see if there's a layout of the camp such as were the HQ building was the mess hall the rifle range showers maybe in the local historical society?
@adventurearchaeology3 ай бұрын
@@douglaskerr6813 Afraid the records of that are long gone for this site. We think we’ve found where the HQ was as most of the coins have been found around that area.

The piece of metal @6:02 is called a charger guide, or at least it was when I was in the military. USMC 1965-1969. Just a little different from what we used for both the M1 and the M14 rifle.
