G'day folks. Out and about metal detecting with the Minelab Equinox 900 and the six inch coil this week. I put an experimnet to the test after viewer questions and come up with the goods. Wild silver and another token.

Excellent, I usually use my headphones only and ignore the visual. Also the size of target can be determined by swinging the coil slowly and just listening. This technique has given me ability to avoid most pop cans . I run a AT Gold here in the Niagara area of Southern Ontario Canada. It takes me time to learn the sounds of other machines such as the Deus and Minelab but as I watch the various videos I am gaining insight on audio detecting. I do find that various countries have different soil compositions and thus different signals.

Great video again Andrew and some nice bits and pieces and also a great selection of shotties . Even some wild silver and a token in great condition. Mish will probably come back now to see if you left any tokens for her. I can see you've been really missing your 6 inch coil. As I stand there wiggling the coil over the target THE big question- do I dig or keep moving? We use several data points to make our decision and numbers can easily find their way to the top of the heap. But should they? I've been pondering that for a bit but I never even thought to hide the little buggers! Thanks for a splendid idea. as well as a good video to enjoy a morning cup with. Next big question- should the detector or the fishing pole find its way to the truck....decisions, decisions. I though retirement was supposed to be easy!

Gday Greg. This was a bit of fun that payed off ok but really you do want every bit of info we can get to decide whether we dig or not even though it is always recommended to dig everything. That was a long sentence. Thanks for watching. I would put both in 🤣🦘🦘😁👍

Great little hunt there Mr coffee bush kid I love the token that's awesome. I'm just going to throw in a little constructive criticism with no ill feelings as I love watching your videos with respect I was wondering if you could turn the volume down on your pinpointer as it is very loud and I usually have the volume up so I can hear your narrative which is always interesting. Cheers on another great video 👍

Gday Dave. No problem with criticism. The pin pointer does not have a volume switch. It is loud. I have noticed myself if I start it on screen it is loud in the start up. I will try to remember to start it behind me to make it quieter. Thanks for the continued watching 😁👍

Howdy Andrew, That was an interesting experiment. Numbers can be your enemy or your friend. Say your in a park and you've dug up 2 dozen pull tabs that ring up 14 to 19 on my Nox 800. Well I'm sick of getting up and down, up and down to dig pull tabs so I stop digging those numbers even if there a good repeatable signal. Experience has taught me that you can get some really desirable finds (even gold) in that target range. So do the numbers save my knees by keeping me from digging pull tabs (the friend) or stop me from digging something great (the enemy). I don't know the answer. I see you have some flowers blooming down there so I guess Spring has sprung on you. The trees around here have just started loosing some leaves but there are still plenty of fall flowers and very warm days ahead before winter. Fall is my favorite season and I'm looking forward to it. Good on you for finding the thrip and the token. I reckon Mish will find her token someday. She's a very determined person. Hope you and Viv are doing well and enjoying life. Your buddy, Roelf.

Gday Roelf. This was a good bit of fun. I get lots of people asking me what numbers should they dig. I say go the repeatable signals so I put my money where my mouth is and did this one. Was over digging the shotty ends though. Very happy with the thrip and the token. Yes spring is in the air. Days are getting longer and warmer. Out in the paddocks and bush the bulbs are coming up and the fruit trees are in blossom so you can pick out where old dwellings were. Good time for exploring. Yes Mish is very determined. She will get one one day. Hope it is soon. I seem to be getting one a week at the moment. We are both well. Hope you and Jan are too. Take care mate 🦘🦘😁👍

Ive found, now days that I dig everything, because quite a few targets ive dug, that had poor readings and or, poor audio response have turned out to be better than expected targets, of course with that usually comes a bag full of rubbish, Good numbers and audio dont always represent good targets, But i always start off cherry picking the better responses, and work my way down from there, Cant say ive found that many shotty's in one hunt before, But you still managed, buttons a token and wild silver! If it repeats, dig it! Cheers Andrew! definitely a different experience!
@TheCoffeeBushKid
@TheCoffeeBushKid Жыл бұрын
Gday Wayne. Yes it was a bit different. Was over the shotty ends. Lots more were actually dug but there is only so much people can watch. People always ask what numbers to dig and this was just to show that as you say, a repeatable signal is the thing to go by. Did find a couple of gems though. Mish must not have swung over that bit of ground. Great to find but I wish she had got it. Hope you are well. Take care mate 😁👍

G’day Andrew, well done mate, going in blind is the go I think, us vintaged detectorist can sometimes be over thinking what we dig, I’m guilty of cherry picking good numbers thinking it’s going to be good, usually I eat my words and it’s crap 😂, Poor Mish she should probably go back to using the Nox 😂.. only joking Mish you’re intune with your machine, Just have to swing over it , Makes no difference whatsoever what detector we use.
