Straw Hat Guy ( time traveller) is from the year 2168 where the music scene has been controlled by AI for over a century. He is part of a dissident movement, attempting to bring real music back to the masses. He'd obviously heard tales of this legendary performance so travelled back to 2013 where he download the bands recording in real time , onto his Omni-tool. Hopefully he made it back safely so our descendants can also enjoy Nightwish.

Oh yes; A lot of us are waiting and looking forward to your astonished expressions when Floor or someone else from the band unpacks a surprise. And yes, we often start giggling as well. A lot of us know Gabriel's list and know exactly which songs are coming up and the order doesn't matter at all. But I would like to give you one recommendation - save 'The Greatest Show on Earth' and 'The Poet And The Pendulum' for a very long time. These two songs are the absolute masterpieces of the band! Don't forget this great concert is over 10 years ago. Since then there many great performances by Floor with Nightwish and assorted solo projects. You can also appreciate the start of her career at age 16 with one of the pioneer Symphonic Metal bands - After Forever - and the band she personally founded after their breakup - ReVamp. You won't run out of magic.

From wiki: Composer and lyricist of the song, Tuomas Holopainen has said that "Storytime" is inspired by the 1982 movie The Snowman, the theme of which was previously covered by Nightwish for their Oceanborn album. The idea for the music of "Storytime" was born when Holopainen wondered why no-one had made a remake of the film, and pondered on what his version of the score to the scene in which "Walking in the Air" plays would sound like. In a teaser text released prior to the release, Holopainen summarized the song: "How would it feel to take a midnight flight with a snowman through the most wondrous landscapes, like in the classic animated Yuletide film? The meaning of our very existence is created though stories, tales and imagination. They are at the very core of humanity." The lyrics references several classical pieces of fiction concerning imagination, including the character of Peter Pan and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. The lyrics also mention the mythical Gaia, the Greek primordial Earth goddess.

This is our Valkyrie Goddess for you. And you witnessed first hand a "Dutch Windmill" , and to finish you off, The Operatic "Cruise Missile" !!!! Floor has 3 distinct styles. Head banging(straight forward, then back), hair whip(almost like cracking a bull whip) and the Windmill(continuous 360 degree revolutions). Why Windmill? Well she is Dutch. Awesome tune , although it is kind of a pop/rockish sound (originally sung by Anette, the second singer of Nightwish), but Floor gave it soooo much POWER !!! Including this "Operatic" part, what was originally done by children's choir because vocal limitations on their second singer (Great singer also, I might add), but Floor has none of that "Limit". Nightwish lyrics are often a bit interpretive, and not as "straight forward" as many other bands, because Tuomas ( The Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen: founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish.) prefers people to put their own interpretations and life experiences into the lyrics. you connect with songs on a personal level when there is something there that relates to things you have gone/are going through, and you may even find new connections later on in life when you have gone through other big events/emotions. there might be songs you are quite indifferent about (oh, nice song) and then you go through something big and all of a sudden it makes you break down in tears because now you relate to something in the lyrics you didn't before, and see it from a whole new perspective. imagination and life experiences are powerful, and Tuomas has great appreciation of this. Yes, this was released as a DVD, it's called "Showtime, Storytime (2013)". They had their own cameramen with them at the festival, that's why the guys operating the cameras know where to focus at each moment. If you watch some unofficial videos that were recorded for example for festival streaming and that is filmed by the people working for the festival, they really don't know what is happening next and they can't catch all those precious moments and tiny gestures that you can find in official DVD videos. For example from the latest tour there is no DVD available. If you watch them play for example in Hellfest 2022, that is just filmed for the festival stream. It's just boring to watch compared to this.

There are two shots, one of Tuomas’ face and another one of Emppu’s where they seem so content and happy. They know they’ve struck Gold with Floor as their new front woman for keeps, and they know what’s coming in terms of her singing. Just imagine being able to work with somebody so talented and on top of that such a sweet personality. No wonder they were smiling through out the concert. The deal with Floor was sealed and they knew that.

Some of the words are not always correct but it does a pretty good job I couldn't see if you were pressing keys or using the mouse, and not all reactors know that they can press keys instead of the mouse. Here are a few that are useful. Please ignore if you already know about them; Letter F - Max screen/not max screen toggle Letter K or [Spacebar] - Pause/Un-pause toggle [Left Arrow] and [Right Arrow] keys - go backwards/forwards 5 seconds each time you press p.s. This song was written for Anette who was the vocalist before Floor. Anette had a more 'pop' voice and you get that vibe with the way that the vocals were written in this song. Floor makes this song her own with her 'monster level' vocals, but it still comes through as being a little bit 'poppy' 😊

You already know some of the history of the band and the circumstances around Floor's entrance to Nightwish. This was their first major festival after she joined a mere 10 months previously. What I think the band are thinking (especially Tuomas) is one of relief and joy that they had found their new singer. Up until then she was still officially temporary, though I'm sure the band didn't even pause to consider asking her to become a permanent member after Wacken. Same happened to Troy, who you haven't seen yet. But the looks on the faces of both the band and the audience pretty much tells the story.

Write all Nightwish song titles on single pieces of paper - with the exception of 'The Greatest Show on Earth' and 'The Poet and the Pendulum'. (AND the songs you already reacted to, obviously) Fold the pieces of paper, hustle them and pick a random one. Play it and it will be the best song you heard until that moment. Just to point out that you can't go wrong by choosing a Nightwish song. Why the exception of those two songs? Because they are special and need some research before listening, You're well advised to listen to 'The Poet and the Pendulum' somewhat later in your discovery journey at a time you know more ins and outs about the band and its history. I agree with saving "Poet" and GSOE" for later, when you are more familiar with the band. For GSOE, you need to check the lyrics first and see if there is any terminology that you need to research. For Poet, you do need to know the story of the band and their first singer.

Tuomas always throws a few twists and unexpected turns into his compositions. Even in a single like this one. We warned you about those multiple "Floorgasms". And some waterworks. We all get them. Go all the way back if needed. We don't mind. One of Tuomas' favorite themes is loss of youthful innocence. This one actually had subtitles. Nightwish does not focus on solos as much as some bands. Hey man, a good reaction to a fine song by Nightwish. You are now beginning to understand the band and what it can do! Nothing you can say seems adequate and the fact is that none of it has not been said before. On the "guy in the crowd": After watching the concert many times, I am now of the opinion that that guy is not really a guy at all, but a mannequin, a model that has been brought to the venue as some sort of joke or attention getter by someone with a warped sense of humour! However, enjoy your journey through the Nightwish list of great numbers. £njoy Floor's renditions of Tuomas's excellent creations. Enjoy your life!

From angel to demon :D Doommetal, Folkmetal or real folksongs. Just a tip: if you use earphones or headphones...you will hear this so much better. I notice the difference big time. (also gen X metal fan and toooo many concerts without earpluggs. They did not excist haha. My hearing is bad too. Well if you‘re a prog metal guy, Ayreon should be one of your next rabbit holes. Especially as you‘ve already mentioned Dream Theater in one of your Videos. The day that the world breaks down (kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXfYfn6ap9-Dp7c) should be a good starting point although it’s not live.

Most of the fanbase also call that guy the Time Traveller. I'm as close as I can be to 100% certain the editors "photoshopped" in a still frame grab of him just for fun to see how long it would take for people to start noticing. He is a little bit larger than everybody else, and the shadows/lighting don't match the surroundings. They did the same thing in one short clip of Last Ride of the Day at the Masters of Rock venue in the Czech Republic. A few seconds later, the show the same part of the audience and that guy (not this guy) is there at normal size and moving rather than still frame.

The crowd had such an energy that was infectious except that one man so he stood out because he was completely devoid of any joy or enthusiasm. It's weird that I called him a time traveler only to find out many people also refer to him that way.

I see a lot of people recommending "The Poet and the Pendulum", as do I, but make sure you research the history of why the band and their first singer, Tarja Turunen, split before yo do it. It will add to the song, I promise!
