Today I build a user request with the Metal Earth Blue Angels F/A-18 Super Hornet! I go step by step through the build to create this fascinating piece! Shout out to ‪@Jayviation69‬ for this excellent suggestion!

A very challenging, 'testy' model to build, for certain! Especially when attaching the wings and exhaust port sections to the fuselage! But the way that sapphire blue, reflective finish captures the light is the 'eye candy' that hooks you into finding any way possible to build to completion! So glad that Metal Earth released this kit! It's a beautiful piece of art when done!

@The Hobbiest Geek. Thank you for the tutorial. I have a couple Metal Earth models and I have not tackled them yet as the first one came out okay, and the second one was bad. One “important” note on your model, the F/A-18 Hornet and Super hornet’s vertical stabilizers (tail fins) cant outward about 7 degrees from vertical. It’s one of the features I always loved about the hornet

Wow, that's great to know! Now I've got to go back and try to make sure they're angled right! I truly hope you continue the hobby. It can be very rewarding and can really fill up your shelves with some incredible pieces, but it does take determination and practice! I wish you the best!

Hi, @the hobbyist geek. Thank you so much for making this video! I have attempted again at making the blue angels model and it worked! Except that the cockpit cover is quite bent but it turned out well!

Paint the tabs with a matching acrylic paint color! I get pretty good 'cover-up' results doing it to my models!

I've considered that but it does defeat the "all in one" purpose of these kits. That said.....I have been known to do that on occasion....

@@thehobbyistgeek6566 I tend to view it as my special project and try to make nescessary corrections when I feel the kit needs improvments in certain areas. The 'all-in-one' concept is nice, of course, but the Metal Earth company produces models that likewise produce aggravation in the complexity of the building process to completed showpiece. With that considered, I overlook the 'all-in-one' aspect, using my own techniques to achieve the results I want to see.

@@Titan52berg Totally understandable. I've been known to add little touches and modifications to the odd base product or two... I completely respect the perfectionist and the work they put into every project.

I'm so sorry but, fast forwarding through all of those parts are certainly not helping any newcomers. More likely than not those are the parts that are giving the newcomers most of their problems. I've built many, many ME planes including this one and as far as an instructional video I would say it was a fail. Again, I'm so sorry. I really believe you could/should update some of your tools. There are many great ones out there.

@@karlkovach8647 First and foremost, you don’t have to apologize. We can disagree without animosity. Second, is there a section you had difficulty with that I sped through? I thought I had kept it pretty clear and only sped up duplicated areas but I can make a mistake in editing. As for my tools, they do the job well for me. Do you have a recommendation that viewers can consider as an alternative?
