I'm 40 years old. I don't have many regrets, but one that stands out is not following my calling to be a pilot. My dad gave me the aviation bug and would take me flying remote control airplanes when I was a kid. I still remember how proud he was when I landed my plane for the first time by myself, I was still in elementary school I was roughly 7 or 8 years old. I can still smell the fuel, and see the grass. I'm pretty sure it was LCDR Zimmerman who did the narrating during a Blue Angels demonstration in Duluth MN summer of 2023. Apart from his aviation creds, I was also impressed by his articulation, poise, and honestly, keen memory. There is a lot that the narrator says and he spoke it all without skipping a beat, seemed so comfortable and natural. Was also great to hear one of the pilots was from MN. While the Blues only switched to the E/F model of the Hornet in 2021 the actual Super Hornet has been in the USN inventory over 20 years, keep in mind that the Blues hornets are some of the oldest in the entire fleet, but more than capable of performing this type of precision flying, and fortunately being just down the road from the USNA I get to see sometimes two or three times a year if they also perform over Baltimore or at Joint Base Andrews!
