Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake- Gray Fox & Big Boss

The best part of Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake! Snake has a fight with Gray Fox in a mine field, and the my favorite bgm(tears) in the game plays in the cutscene after the fight. then just after gray Fox Snake has to fight Big Boss as well. Actually was totally Snake's style. Big Boss was using a freaking assault rifle against him and he had no weapons. To attempt CQC would be madness, he made the best of a losing situation and came out on top at any costs, which he was always known for. Also because at this time he was much younger than BB and is also a genetically modified version of him(which u prolly know).

My guess is he was no longer sure that what he was doing was actually what the Boss wanted but believed he was too far gone to stop and so like his speech said, believed his only way out was death and therefore may not have been trying as hard as he could've.

That can be Metal Gear Solid VI. Both games combined in one. A giant remake. They can also add a story in between Outer Heaven Incident (1995) & Zanzibarland (1999) that links to every single Metal Gear Solid game. & it might use the "Tactical Espionage Action" tagline again with a mixture of the Tactical Espionage Operations.. As long as the Soliton Radar system, the toggle use of the overhead and the third-person camera, & the original Item/weapon widows from old Metal Gears are usable again maybe as an option, or just a improved expanded window combining Peace Walkers & MGS1-4. And since Kojima said that MGSV: The Phantom Pain may be "too big to finish", he might do that with The Phantom Pain's length. Or the remakes might be included in MGSV. The music in both games should be re-mastered for nostalgia.

I actually like the oldschool look and feel of the early games. It really makes you appreciate the series' longevity. Metal Gear is one of the very few non-Nintendo franchises still going that dates back to the 8-bit era. I recently played through the whole series in order of release, from Metal Gear all the way to Rising, and seeing the evolution of graphics and the increasing sophistication of the mechanics, was awesome.

Sanguiluna I think the third-person & overhead view that was used in Metal gear Solid 3: Subsistence should be in Metal Gear remakes (Metal Gear Solid VI). The old school look would be good for the remakes since the old MGs had a overhead view, & it can be used for old-school gamers that grew up with Metal gear all the way to MGS3. The third-person camera can be used for the new generation. I hope they keep the gameplay control option similar to Peace Walker to where you can either use the MGS4, or Peace Walker in the remakes, cuz I liked that option.

The reason why Big Boss had a change in heart because he realised The Boss's will. And he realised it too late. During his time in Zanzibar (or at least Peace Walker/Outer Heaven), he believed in a nation where the soldiers would answer to no nation (whereas Ahab/Venom Snake/Phantom Boss's view of it is that the soldiers ARE the nation). Only when he was "revived" at the end of MGS4, he then realised the true will of The Boss, which was to make the world whole again, by respecting the will of other's and believing in our own. Both Zero/Cipher and BB(as well as his Phantom) misinterpreted her dream, causing a cold war between them (and their successors) for nearly 50 years.

Looking back on it, I believe that both Big Boss's and Gray Fox's survival at the end of this game were retconned and that Hideo Kojima intended for both of them to be really dead at the time and had no plans to bring them back, i also believe that Big Boss being Solid Snake's father was a retcon as well, which explains why Big Boss never actually says that he's Snake's Father in this game

I actually replayed this game recently, and after hearing Kasler saying that he’ll tell everyone that Snake is the greatest mercenary in the world, it makes me think that lead to Snake gaining his moniker as The Legendary Mercenary. Big boss realized that after all the wars, shadow moses, the rig incident, and mgs4 all this pain and confusion was waged over himself, his body, and who he is. Solid snake after this, was basically a continuation or a carbon copy of his relation to Zero and Cypher and then the events paz's rescue and finally him losing himself in phantom pain. He passed his demons to his "children" so to speak. In the end of mgs4 he urged solid snake to live his life not knowing when it would end even if in the next minute. In other words Big Boss had a critical change of heart and while he made a choice in phantom pain he also wanted snake to make a choice in mgs4. All this because after he got himself badly burnt at this game at youtube he was partly conscious while they tried to revive his body just prior to the events of mgs 1. He became a spectator to the pain he inherited to his offspring. When the technology to construct a super ninja arrived, (raiden) then his remains were fully restored. You see all of the metal gear franchise revolved around big boss. In the NES system it was about his utter thirst to make the world into some warrior's world because that's what his reality was which ended with his utter demise. Mgs 1 2 and 4 was the war for his remains and ideologies and the continuation of his ideal. Mgs 3 ground zeroes and phantom pain shows exactly what transformed Big Boss.

The subsequent portrayal of young Big Boss debuted later, in 2004, in the video game Metal Gear Solid 3. Said latter portrayal was based off of the former portrayal. The Big Boss we first see in Metal Gear 2 is *distinctly* different (indeed, this is shown to be a plot point). Maybe Metal Gear Solid 2 really was ahead of it's time in how it showed people willing to accept a new narrative so blindly...even if it changes what is already established.

Venom snake was the big boss seen in the original metal gear game, here it’s the real big boss

His body was revived with nanomachines and parts of Liquid's and Solidus' bodies were given to Big Boss. When Snake destroyed GW in MGS4, Big Boss was finally set free.

This is a really old game so forgive it for not being cinematic but what happened was fox and snake were fighting hand to hand on a fucking minefield. Snake knocked his ass down and his stomach landed on a mine. Fox didn't die immediately so he's pretty much talking to snake with his guts everywhere. So now you know why solid snake has so much trauma

I couldn't take these fights seriously because of the graphics and Gray Fox running around. This game - along with the first one, Snake Eater and Sons of Liberty - should be remade with the Fox Engine.

@@nile2128 hes not wrong, I beat metal gear 2 and while the story was good the combat just looked and felt like playing with lego minifigures. The combat hasn't aged well.

Only mg1 and mg2. Mgs1 and onwards are good as they are. Graphics aren't everything and we need the story to come full circle first.

@Salb814 Yes. After getting cooked here, the Patriots recover Big Boss's body, restore enough to not die, and keep him in a nanomachine-induced coma. He stays that way until EVA manages to steal his body and restore it with skin grafts from Liquid and Solidus's corpses. Once Solid Snake defeats the Patriot AIs, the coma spell is lifted and Big Boss awakens. He was already an old man before the coma though and he actually dies from the Foxdie virus Snake is infected with.

@MegadonG Big Boss didn't particularly like any of his clone sons and what their existence represented. If he wanted a son, he'd call Venom his son, not the test tube babies made from his stolen DNA. He trained Solid a little bit, but he intended for Solid Snake to die back when he infiltrated Outer Heaven. Instead, Solid Snake survived, disobeyed orders, destroyed Metal Gear, Venom Snake, AND the entire Outer Heaven facility. And now here is Solid Snake again, fresh from destroying Boss's latest Metal Gear and his trusted lieutenant Grey Fox. He respected Solid Snake's ability as a soldier, but he's still a thorn in BB's side by thwarting his plans again.
