You really gotta respect a director who allows someone else to direct a modernized version of their game that urges the new director to do their own thing instead of forcing them to make a shot-for-shot remake. A lot of people shit on Kojima as being pretentious and a lot of other shit that’s just ridiculous. Name any game director alive that has pushed gaming in a more cinematic direction than Kojima. Or actually tries to elevate the medium to the level of reverence in popculture as films are. Name another director that isn’t afraid to throw their own weird sense of humor into the middle of Spy Triller? Or consistently creates games with stories that constantly keeps you guess as to what the hell else could possibly happen next? You thought you were gonna play Solid Snake, the beloved hero of the first three games? Nah, he’s going to drown in the first hour and a half of the game. Here’s pretty boy Raiden. Oh yea, here’s a Vampire ballerina that is a master with knives. Hey, look at this dude named Pliskin he’s totally not Snake. Doesn’t look like Kurt Russel who played Snake Pliskin in Escape from New York. No sir. Oh, you thought you were going to just blow up one Metal Gear RAY then fist fight Solidus Snake? Nah, you gotta fight 25 metal Gear RAYS, IN A ROW! THEN you can have a sword fight with Solidus Snake on the roof of the building in New York where the Constitution was signed, only after crashing a submarine like vessel 10x the size of a whale into the New York harbor and city. Nice video and all, but I didn't particularly need an entire plot synopsis for every single game. When looking for a retrospective, I was kinda looking mostly for behind the scenes stuff. The thought process behind making the games, interviews, making-of stuff, reviews of the time, etc.

All I said was that, when I look into watching a retrospective, I prefer to hear about the actual history of the development, as opposed to an entire plot synopsis of each game. A short description of the game's plot, I don't mind. But I'm mostly here for making-of stuff. Behind the scenes development, company history, things that lead up to the games being created. A look into old reviews of the time, old magazine articles. Stuff of that nature. And as an aside, 1989, thank you. Though, judging by your comment, you're probably way younger than I am.

Soo wrong. Go play mgs 4 and mgsv. Gameplay in V is awesome and story is great if u are smart enough to read between the lines and comprehend whats actually going on. The story isnt spoon fed to u like the other games. U have to actually understand whats hoing on. Its all a lie and u can understanf that if u pay attention and read the time stamps and time line .all the sceans that have a red light glare are all hallucinations and never happend due to the shrapnel in his head.hes remembering all the event wrong and this is true. It was an amazing way to tell venoms story. Very complocated and most people didnt comprehend it .only the hardcore fans who analyzed every bit of it. I suggest u go to reddit and check out R/NBGO every detail is laid out and everyone there can explain it to u in detail so u can understand whats really going on. The theme was 1984 based on the book about lies becoming truth.so everything on the surface in mgsv was a lie u have to decipher through all the half truths and piece it together to get the real story

metal gear, MGS1, MGS3, Peace walker, and metal gear 2, snakes revenge are all good games that I enjoy. After the first playthrough, I just skip the story, but yeah, not a fan of kojima, he makes semi good games but people worship him, which has corrupted him into thinking he can do no wrong, leading to him fail time and time again (MGS2/4/5 are all great examples, seriously, quiet is something that he thought was a good idea? that doesn't include all of the offshoot games, everytime kojima would say he was leaving MGS, i was happy, then he got rid of david hater? *sighs*)
