Honestly Sundowner is probably my third favourite fight. Mistral is first cause honestly I really liked it for what is basically the first major boss with Raiden's new upgrades Second is Jetstream Sam cause it's a really fun fight that keeps you from being lazy and just using blade mode and sub weapons. Also cause well. It's basically a Samurai duel what's not to love? Sundowner honestly this fight speaks for itself. It's challenging but not in an unbeatable way plus the fact of how he's slow at first and then switches to being swift really gets you on edge and keeps you there while you're trying to dodge, block and counter him

The first time i heard it, i didnt know the context of Sundowner being a total warpig. I had a very different interpretation of the track from what was intended. @@Definitely_Dave Guys like Sundowner exist sure, but thats not really what your average green suiter in America is. Theyre just dudes. Especially your part timers who manage a game stop civilian side. People tend to think military guys are these separate entities that are just built different. Some are, for certain. The level of drive and discipline needed to go do cowboy infantry shit (of which I dont do, Im a logie, but were all trained shooters anyway) is something that you typically dont find in the general population. Potatoes aside. There are slugs in every profession. As far as violence being a part of human nature, absolutely, but not in the way people think. My time as a beat cop, while brief, was a good lesson in that. But violence as a solution to problems is relegated to either zealots, the desperate, or idiots. Case in point, look towards a police officer whos unfortunately had to use lethal or near lethal force for justified reasons. You'll still find PTSD, alcoholism, anxiety problems and even existential crisis. Only true sociopaths or indoctrinated individuals can commit acts of bitter violence and walk away unscathed. Its a part of human nature that generally can be overcome, but we will always be stuck with the dregs of society or circumstances where its our only option. Fucks sake, people think words are violence these days. Shows you how far our society has come really, when thats the level the average person is at.

I feel like V did fantastic with the verses, I honestly like them a bit more than the original cause of the energy he brings. That said, the OG’s chorus just works better imo. Not a big fan of how V pauses between each sentence in the chorus, whereas the original just flows better.

The tone of this cover actually contradicts the intended theme of the song. Sundowners theme is the most tame of Mgr because he's the one most at peace with everything going on, that's why the lyrics are sang soulfully. Sundowner himself isnt a violent maniac bent on death and carnage because of emotional instability, he is literally at peace with everything and that's why he (figuratively) sings it this way and says there's no need for a cure from war, because it's nature itself. It's not a coincidence Sundowner (the man most assured of his path in life) has the calmest song in the Ost, and Jetstream Sam (the man least assured of his path in life) has the most chaotic in the Ost.
