Have you ever wondered what blade mode would look like in real time? Well I have, and apparently, so has Praetorian Plays, so I will link his channel in this description.
How I made this video: There are 5 speed altering statuses in the game, which I will detail to perfection here, incase you want to make a video about this yourself.
1. Manual Blade Mode: This type of Blade Mode is triggered by simply pressing (holding) the button you have Blade Mode bound to on your keyboard or controller. This type of blade mode requires you to not be in a state where True Blade Mode is triggerable, and you need to have at least one full bar of Fuel Cell energy. This type of Blade Mode slows the game speed down to 100/233 speed, so if you wanted to make a video like this, you would speed the footage up to 233% (2.33x) speed
2. True Blade Mode: This type of Blade Mode is triggered in two ways, the first is whenever the screen flashes blue and the game slows down, which can happen for a variety of reasons, the most common being an important cuttable object, such as Sundowner's shield or a common enemies arm. This blue hue is an indicator that you can trigger True Blade Mode. The second way is much easier, you can simply use Ripper Mode, and then trigger Blade Mode manually, by simply holding down the Blade Mode button at any point in time, at which point, you will trigger True Blade Mode. This type of Blade Mode sets the game to 1/10 speed, so if you wanted to make a video like this, you would speed the footage up to 1000% (10x) speed.
3. Unnamed Blue Hue (post combo/pre-execution): Whenever the blue hue appears at the edges of your screen, the game slows down massively, almost to a complete stop. This can happen for a variety of reasons, which I will detail most of them here. At the end of a light/heavy combo, if you can cut someone's limb off, the screen will have the blue hue on it, which will slow the game down, indicating that you can enter True Blade Mode. At the end of a "combo sequence", (small cinematic sequence whenever you've stunned an enemy), the blue hue will appear, along with a Japanese kanji, which will indicate that you can enter True Blade Mode, and kill the enemy. The other situations are enemy specific/boss specific scenarios in which the player must do something important. An example would be when the player needs to cut Sundowner's shield, the blue hue will once again appear, along with more Japanese kanji, to show that you need to enter True Blade Mode and cut the blue parts of the enemy. Another example is when Mistral uses her Pole Arm to grab Raiden's ankle, the screen will flash blue, and the Japanese kanji will once again appear, which is the universal indicator that you need to cut something using True Blade Mode. As previously stated, time is almost completely stopped in this state, slowing the game down to 1/50 its true speed. Anyone looking to recreate this kind of video would need to speed the footage up to 5000% (50x) speed in order to make the footage real time. However, it isn't this simple, because the slowdown decays over time, meaning that you will have to decrease the amount that your footage is sped up as the slowdown decay takes effect. If you leave the footage at 5000% (50x) speed the entire time that the blue hue is on screen, you will not end up with accurate real time footage, instead you will end up with some real time footage, and the footage after will be wildly sped up. You would need to accurately match the amount of speed up to the amount of speed down, I can't give exact metrics on this type of speed down, sadly, but it is mostly just a small amount of trial and error to get the numbers working the way I did.
4. Zandatsu: There's not much to talk about, any time you perform a Zandatsu time completely freezes. Zandatsu is only performable after cutting the open the center of the enemy. You can do this using Blade Mode, True Blade Mode, Ripper Mode, or the Fox Blade. Once you do that, you can take from the enemies destroyed core, and completely refill your health and FC gauge. The game slows down to 0/1 its true speed. If you wanted to recreate the video with this in mind, you would have to cut the video when the Zandatsu is initiated, and return on the frame where the core is first crushed. Simply speeding up the video wouldn't work.
5. Ripper Mode: Ripper Mode is unlocked after defeating Monsoon (technically during the fight with Monsoon), Ripper mode is a togglable state in which the player can instantly cut anything (much like the Fox Blade's passive ability). When this state is initiated, the game slows down to approximately 1/10 speed. The slowdown has a very sharp decay.
