It sure was nostalgic revisiting the game that was such a revelation to 11-year old me upon the first playthrough. Thank you, George, for this guided tour of a classic, and for being a paragon of patience and fortitude. Also very glad to hear your thoughts on The Rock, one of my all-time favorite action flicks and, in my opinion, a much smarter movie than Michael Bay detractors say. Of course, his general approach of "government bad, regular joes good" is a populist one, but in The Rock it works perfectly. Looking forward to MG 2!

I've been a huge MGS fan since the first game came out, spent thousands on MGS merch like toys and stuff and once won the MGS art contest and got retweeted by Kojima after repainting a MGs doll but I kinda sorta lost interest in the series after MGS4 and V and felt retroactively disinterested in the franchise. When I learned that David Hayter will be at a con just 20 mins away from my home that kinda reignited something-- I bought the Master Collection, been trying to get all the achievements and really am having the time of my life. I was planning to film myself repainting one of my Solid Snake dolls and having Hayter sign it and upload it on my YT, I feel like a kid again discovering the series in the late 90's, just don't mention MGSV! :P EDIT: I just realized that my comment really has nothing to do with anything! Sorry! Keep up the amazing work George and I love these MGS streams!

I'm pretty sure in terms of Ocelot's motivations, it ultimately comes down to him being loyal to Big Boss. Big Boss was betrayed by everyone he ever trusted, and Ocelot, the serial backstabber is the only person to never betray Big Boss.

Thanks for the awesome stream, George, can't wait for Metal Gear 2! Its not my favorite, but man is it seriously up there, its such a great game even for years after its time. As a side note, I'm sorry to hear that critical looks at games have been slowing down. Feels like its not just your channel that has dried up on that subject, and its a real shame. I think video games have become too mainstream and samey and aren't taking as many risks as they used to. At least there's still some gems in the Indie scene like Balero recently, but there haven't been any good philosophically-driven game themes in awhile. No matter what I hope you keep pushing, take care of yourself and your mom, and keep enjoying some of what you're doing.

I'm pretty sure with Kojima being on the record that MGS2 was never really supposed to be followed up on that the original idea before the Patriots became your MGS3 support team in 4 is that the Patriots founders actually died a hundred years ago but that their meme has spread throughout not only the American government but American society at large which is how the whole conspiracy have managed to slowly overtake America. The patriots won long before the game even started and the only way to fight back is to follow Snake's advice at the end and passing on your own memes to future generations.
