Nice pun. I see it more of a "Kojima wasted millions on this engine/game, so we're going to get our money back from it" rather than trying to survive. Remember they're supposedly quitting the whole gaming thing so thats the only thing I can think of. Technically though, Metal Gear 3, 5, PW, and PO shouldn't have been called "Solid" since they were only vaguely connected to "Solid" Snake.

The people working on this project were forced to see this to the end because the higher-ups at Konami have been replaced by dictators and blackmailed them into finishing this game. P Radziel have you played this? It's actually quite an amazing game, easily the best survival game I have ever played. If they wanted a pure cash grab this game would have been out well over a year ago. They put in work to get this game out and it's paid off in the end because it's great, unfortunately people are dumb and they like to be sheep so they hate konami too much to give the game a chance. The Japanese reviews of this game were really good and the fans are fine over there, it would be great if others could forget about the hideo mess as well because this stuff happens in business all the time, it's nothing new.

You are partly right. If you enjoy it then that is great. I personally don't like survival games so I'm really not that interested in it. It is not a popular opinion but I also think that Kojima by himself may not be the sole reason why the old MGS games are considered gaming gems. I'm very curious what Death Stranding will be like because of this. There is a chance that Kojima is like John Romero (Daikatana) I'm very curious to find out. (I'ma a cat after all)

The more I think about it, the more it feels like MGS Survive is like The Emoji Movie. They’re both a soulless, functional cash grab that tries to follow popular trends that already passed, filled with obvious cliches, and can be either cringy, boring or both at times. The two differences being one is a movie and one is a video game, and one of these actually had a reputation to ruin.

+T- Turbo A lot of things in Art are subject to opinion. A fair number of other things aren't, though. Predatory monetization practices, for example -- especially those locking away *bare-bones basic Video Game features* like Save Slots behind a paywall (and a ~$8,50 paywall, at that) -- are among those that are *OBJECTIVELY* not only ruining any chance MG Survive itself might have had, but are also (again, *objectively* ) almost lethally toxic to the Video Game Industry as a whole. That last part, by the way, means that anybody defending MG Survive despite some of its mechanics contributing to the eventual *death* of the entire Industry, are themselves contributing to aforementioned eventual death of the Industry by not resolutely and wholeheartedly rejecting the cancer that is Konami.
